Official Dec 2012 MATH thread

Alright guys…no point in beating ourselves up over this stupid test. I’m out, GL to everybody!

I thought it was E. **** if I got the right answer but filled in the wrong bubble I will be angry!

@jackz99 if that’s what you picked was it e? i am pretty sure that was right?

What did you guys put for the one where it gave you the values and their respective intervals, and then asked you to identify the right graph?

@thirrdplanet I put E, somewhat sure about it.

@eddiemaini it was the “steps” graph

The steps graph was right.

Can anyone explain to me the problem where it shows you a right angle and then wants you to find the center if the angle is circumscribed with a circle? It was one of the later problems.

I think I got this wrong because I over thought it. Other people were saying it was (4,3) which I almost did and stupidly changed it.

@thirrdplanet I got (4,3)

Yeah I got that one wrong. Stupid me for thinking too much

Yeah I thought it said inscribed or something and I found the point (4,3) and then assumed it wanted the midpoint so I put (2, 1.5) or whatever. fail lol

Do any of these answers ring a bell:
4a^5 - a^3
-1/2

I did the exact same thing and I hate overthinking things. Ug!

@jackz, yes, all of them do…

@Jackz, they all do…for me that is.

was the parabola shifted to the right slightly? I mean, in the answer it looks like its shifted, right? But it’s actually flipped (?)

@Orangecream
For that problem I think it’s E. It doesn’t look like it flipped, but all the other ones were clearly wrong

there was an a/c that looked the same as the figure. Was that the answer? or was it slightly to the right?

For the parabola one I just picked the one that looked flipped over the x-axis and moved on without noticing anything about shifts. >_> I did that for a lot of the math-- picked a quick, reasonable-looking answer and kept moving, and I barely finished even doing that, ugh. It’s going to kill me.

What did you guys put for the pyramid with sqrt3? I didn’t even understand what they were asking-- answer choices were two ones with sqrts, 8, and then 16.
