I got really really excited, until I realized that we have to wait 7 more days. =/

Deep breaths. Whooooooooooo.

Ok so I hate to be the person to ask the question, but is there a chance that MIT mails stuff out before the 16th? Or is the first time we could possibly see the decision the 16th?

No. Early possible date is 16th.
The release date has made me even more nervous. Haha

You get the decision online on the 16th; the actual letter or tube comes later I presume.

kldaace is correct.

The vast majority of us are going to get deferred. This date is meaningless to most of us. But I guess it’s no use telling everyone to not freak out. :)

Here’s a link to the announcement:
[MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: “MIT EA Decisions: Thursday 12/16, 9pm EST”](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/misc/miscellaneous/mit_ea_decisions_thursday_1216.shtml)

I agree with doptaa, and I hate that about the MIT process. I’m certainly not a “clear admit candidate” and I hope I’m not in the 10% that gets rejected, which means I find myself sadly convinced that I will receive the deferral. And then another four months of waiting… Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they reconsider all applications they think are competitive, but can they really only be sure of 20% of the applications in the early round? I’d much rather have a rejection now than wait for one in March.

^ welcome to early action.

Ha! I knew they’d release them just before the TRON: Legacy premiere. This gives them to time to post the results, make sure the server doesn’t crash in the first hour, and then go to dinner and the theater. Lucky admissions people…
