Online EA decisions: Dec. 9, noon EST

Selection has begun, and decisions are still on target for a noon Dec. 9 release.

Ben's blog entry today describes what to do if you applied EA and plan to view your admissions decision online. Read the entry for the how-to details: you login to decisions.mit.edu using your MyMIT username and password. He STRONGLY SUGGESTS you logout of MyMIT if you stay logged in and try NOW to log back in, to make sure you remember your username and password. There is a "lost password" link on MyMIT to reset the password if you've forgotten it. (If you don't remember your username or never had one, his entry provides a number to call NOW to get it set up.) He also reminds those who will go to the decisions site that as soon as you enter your username, your decision is displayed without any intermediate page, so be sure you want to see it.

They will be mailing postal mail with the decisions at the same time, so it will take a few days to arrive if you're waiting for the mails. Good luck, everyone!

Can I add my personal exhortation to log out right now and log back in? That's right -- ctrl + T (or N, perhaps, if it's your preference), log out, log in.

If there are posts on this board at the eleventh hour saying "Oh, I forgot to do it and now I don't remember my password and what am I going to dooooo" -- I will be sorely disappointed.

I've already confirmed my username and password on the decisions site twice.

You know, just in case.

Just in case they happen to post my decision a week early.

(If anyone would like to donate their fingers for me to cross, I'll pay by the hour...)

Ha, I went to the decisions site, too... it looks so scary! All grey and red...
