I would GUESS they’d start on Friday, but again, we won’t truly know until it happens. :(

yeah…well there’s only a day left to see. I really really really hope so. I’m so scared it’s not even funny the only reason i’m not completely destroyed is because deferral = at least a little hope. but if not, then i dont know what i’m gonna do…

faiintx, i know EXACTLY what you’re talking about. i’m practically going insane cause i’m so nervous and worried and i feel like i’m annoying people cause i’m talking about it so much. :\ i do have a back-up but it’s not even comparable to U-M…

Has anyone checked wolverine access recently? I wonder if decisions are updated on there?

Just checked it. I’m in RD, and no decision whatsoever. It’s still Thursday, though, so hang on tight for one more day and maybe we’ll be one of those lucky ones who get the first wave of decisions (IF they do send it out by tomorrow)!! :D

Last year, the first decision post was on this forum around 5 p.m. on 10 February (which is the second Friday in Feb!). Lol I know, I’m such a creepy, obsessed UMich stalker :(

does anyone know if the decisions will be emailed or if they will be posted on wolverine access

Based on replies from old threads, decisions will be up on Wolverine Access first. Then emails will be sent out within 24 hours after decisions are up.

Do you have any idea what time they usually post the decisions?

Has anyone seen a pattern of when you applied during EA having an impact on decisions?
i.e if you applied early in September vs last week in October hurt your chances. As we all try to figure out the “Michigan Deferred Mystery” just looking for clues…

Also does Michigan super score officially?

At my S’s large public high school OOS there seemed to be a correlation between when you applied and whether you were deferred. A large number of high stat kids who applied on the 30th or 31st of October were all deferred, with seemingly lower stat kids who applied earlier getting accepted.
Also, from what I’ve heard, Michigan does not superscore either the ACT or SAT.

My son (OOS) applied right at the tail end of the EA deadline, and he was accepted… not sure there is much logic to any of it! And I believe that is correct that they do not superscore.

My friend was told by the school that they take your best single sitting for the SATs

Thanks for the replies!

Apart from writing to your admissions counselor, what else can you do to improve your chances to get out of the deferred pool?

Thanks again for all the support.

Based on son’s experience last year, I don’t think there’s a correlation between the date you apply and the date you finally hear. Son applied in October EA, was deferred in December, and accepted in March - it seemed like an eternity of waiting! But as I’ve posted, he was and is thrilled to be a freshman at Michigan now.

This post is getting long and many tips have been posted previously on how to improve your chances of getting off the deferred list. My son was fortunate because he had his best grades junior and senior years, received many awards and had his most impressive accomplishments during his senior year. He emailed updates to his admission rep - she always replied and said they would be added to his file. He always made sure to include the statement that Michigan was his top choice - and it was true.

Well, tomorrow is the (supposed) big day. Good luck to all of us, if it happens. >:

Good luck to all and if it doesn’t happen tomorrow, hang in there…it may still happen!

wait, how did you all hear that decisions may come out tomorrow?

everyone’s going off of when they sent out decisions in the past. in the past couple years decisions were sent out on the second Friday in February

oh yeah, i applied ea to umich from oos in october. deferred so let’s pray we all get in tomorrow, will make the next couple of months less stressful.

same situation with me (oos and deferred). I’m praying that I get in tomorrow but at the same time I’m trying not to get my hopes up in case I don’t get a decision tomorrow
