I really should ask if my school sends in those grades or not anyways. If they already do, then there’s nothing for me to really wrap my head around in terms of sending in grades or not, as there is nothing that is really in my control anyways. As for contacting my admissions counselor, well, I DID send her an email, but I unfortunately never got a response back. I heard SOME people in this forum even suggesting calling our admissions reps, but if she didn’t even respond to my email, then… I start to wonder if that’s taking it too far. Ah well. I’ll work my hardest while I’m still in school.

Thank you so much sportsmom! Wishing everyone the best :)

Finally got my 7th semester grades, and I’m OK with them, I guess. Wish I’d done better in AP Calc but it looks good that A) they improved my GPA and B) I got an A/A- (same in MICH’s eyes, I believe) in my 6 other classes, two of those AP and another one honors (ended up being a 4.2 weighted 3.75 UW due to my school not putting as much into an A- as an A).

Anyways, it’s a funny feeling knowing my mid-year report is in (other schools have confirmed receiving it), essays are written, everything’s done. I have nothing left to do but wait. Which is awesome but scary at the same time.

Hey all, I just heard a weird news. An applicant who submitted the application yesterday got admitted today! How weird was that considering most of the deferred EA applicants haven’t even heard from the school.

Has anybody heard back or heard of people hearing back today?

^Nothing thus far from what I know

decisions will probably be coming out starting next week

this is probably a really stupid question but does anybody know if they like, sort the applications and evaluate them that way, or if they just evaluate them randomly?

how many deffered people get accepted? I’m kinda nervous…i got my grades and I got 3 A’s, 2 A-'s, and 1 B+ in AP bio…and my ACT score is 28 and I sent them some new things that im doing and that im still interested in umich…i hope thats good enough because im at a loss of what to do now

i really can’t wait any longer…i must know NOW :(((( this is agonizing

@faiintx i know, i keep checking my email like literally every other minute, hoping that i’ll find something. :\ oh well, all we can do now is pray and hope!

For sending in first semester grades, would anybody suggest using report card versus updated transcript? I’m not sure which one is more commonly used for this process. As for my grades, I am taking my hardest schedule to date, with 3 AP’s and 1 honors. For the semester, I had an A+ in my writing class, and Latin 2 Honors, an A- in AP Psychology, a B+ in AP Environmental Science, and a B in AP Calc AB. All in all, I think it will help me because it shows that, not only am I avoiding “senioritis”, but I am actually steadily improving, as I previously sent in 1st quarter grades that were lesser than the overall semester.

if they follow the same time frame as last year, e
might find out on friday

Decisions are usually released on Fridays in batches, so different parts of the country hear before others do. We waited from December (his deferral) until the end of March to receive son’s acceptance. Others will receive their acceptances in the coming weeks. I don’t know the statistics, but it was true last year that for those students still waiting in March, it seemed that very few were accepted at that point. Son felt very lucky to be one of them.

Another recommendation for deferred students…if you believe your chances are really strong of being accepted, you might want to register for a Campus visit day in April before they all fill up. We did so before receiving son’s acceptance, based on a recommendation from this forum, and were so glad we did. By the time he was accepted at the end of March, there weren’t anymore Campus Visit days open. He had not visited campus prior to his acceptance, so the Campus visit day was really important to him. If you’ve already visited, then don’t worry about it. Michigan does still have visits in April and May, just not full blown Campus Days.

I’ve visited the campus once before, absolutely wonderful place, though I remember my initial surprise in how it segued right into the city. Still, thank you. :D

Just wanted to let all you awesome deferred UM applicants I’m looking forward to some HAPPY posts on here coming up very soon! GOOD LUCK… I feel confident many of you are going to have good news coming soon!!!

Does anyone know if they will start sending acceptances this Friday?

@granipc do you have any idea when they will start sending out decisions? the wait is killing me!!

@Umichfan955 I also heard that they will start sending them out this Friday (based on when they sent out decisions last year) but I don’t know

I don’t know, but from what I’ve read on here, seems like it should be soon? Please update as soon as you all hear… fingers and toes crossed for all of you!
