OFFICIAL Deferred Class of 2017

With respect to those three chat dates for admitted students–keep in mind that the third one (LSA on 3/27) overlaps with each of the other two (OOS and IS). So, it would be possible for the ALL the LSA notifications to be delayed until just before 3/27.

My sense, anyhow, is that all the non-LSA applicants are going to start hearing very soon–especially the OOS applicants.

Doesn’t seem like you can trust the admissions office. Yes, everyone will know by April (apparently) but they are vague and/or inconsistent about whether or not they are rolling out decisions before then, leaving everyone in a state of high anxiety.
Why not simply state they they are rolling and to check WA daily or just do it like several other schools (e.g., University of Chicago) which posted yesterday, our decisions will be sent via email on late afternoon of March 15th (not beforehand)?
Just seems like U Mich is being a bit insensitive with the messaging.

In any case, the students (aka “Merrie” and “Cherrie”) they’ve got doing the no doubt very unpleasant work of handling calls and chat sessions really don’t know anything. When I asked a couple of weeks ago whether the next wave of notifications would come out that Friday, the response was “We haven’t heard anything.” These kids just read the script they’re told to read–“Everyone will be notified by early April.”

My beef isn’t really with the admissions office or the kids handling the calls: it’s with the page on their website that continues to indicate that notifications are made on a rolling basis–i.e., FIFO. That may have been the case at one time, but it is true no longer, so they should remove that language. It’s misleading (not to say simply false).

I just wish that Wolverine Access said anything… anything different than what it has always said. I’d rather see “View Decision? Not yet, baby!” or “We’ll tell you when we’re good and ready” or even “Have a nice day, take some Xanax.” All we ever see is “View Application Data” and “View Credentials”. Give me the weather. Anything!

hey guys check um admissions fb page. it says that its not necessary for LSA students to receive their decisions by March 27

Presumably, those doing the saying on the fb page are the same kids who are answering the phones and doing the “chats”. Their instruction is simple: tell everybody “By early April.”

Sure it’s not absolutely necessary that every LSA applicant will hear in time for the 3/27 funfest, but I guarantee you that over 95% of them will.

Just find this thread and it gives me a lot of comfort because I have been so anxious these days after my friend got his offer from college of Engeering. I applied as early action applicant but it didn’t show as qualified on WA. Just before Christmas I call them and they said that they made a mistake, my application was actually qualified. Two days after that I got the deferred letter. Well what I heard is that they always send out emails on Fridays, so maybe for LSA applicants it will be March 22nd? Just guessing.

watch party tomorrow night, haha

It will be the 15 or 22 the next release.

how do you know? and why won’t it be this Friday?

No one knows they’re just guessing

a few weeks ago one of my friends participated in a mass Facebook message the night before UT was released. is anyone else down for this for umich? lol
