wow faiintx so no chance of ur parents giving in then lol. well best of luck at Texas.

@Marcijo if it is (and i hope it is) that UM live chat thing is srsly gonna lose all credibility acc to me.

Wow… I’m literally gonna die…

nope. whatever, this isn’t the only time my parents have been overdramatic/unreasonable. after these few weeks, I’ve realized I’ll be happy as long as I’m not home, doesn’t even matter where lol

wow. damn. now im rly interested in knowing what u did lol. but best of luck at UT and hopefully ur in at Michigan!!!

Hey faiintx–if you get accepted to Mich and you’re not allowed to go, can…um…my daughter have your slot?!?

;>}

My friend got rejected today he got the “Good” deferral letter and I got the “Bad” deferral letter and I still haven’t heard back.

My friend who was deferred with the “bad letter” was accepted to LSA on February 28th for reference.

Which once again supports the premise for the third year in a road that there is no “good” vs. “bad” deferral letter.

Wish there was a way to quash it permanently momofthreeboys, but unfortunately overly optimistic people are going to arrogantly brandish their “good” letter every year.

As clear as it is that there’s no differentiation between the 3 letters, still, I wonder WHY three different kinds of letters exist in the first place if all it’ll do is cause confusion. O.o

I know for a fact that there is a connection between having the good, medium, or bad letter-more people who have the “good” letter get accepted than the medium and bad, it’s that simple. This doesn’t mean that people can’t get in with the other two letters, obviously. Many applicants still do get in with those two.

How do you know this for “fact?” I’m not trying to sound mean here, I’m genuinely curious. :O

Admissions told me when I asked them in person in December. Yes it was kind of a hard answer to get, I kind of pressured them into telling me the truth. They said it wasn’t a deal breaker which letter you got though.

Given the trends and the propensity of admissions to mislead (just look at the varying answers and untrue things the online chat people say), and the fact that you are giving an anecdotal answer that one has to believe or not believe and which isn’t backed by any sort of statistic, I’m still thinking the letter type is essentially meaningless.

Sorry to just straight up say “You’re wrong”, but it just doesn’t add up.

I’m right, letter type is not meaningless, it matters… Hang in there everybody, hopefully the next decisions will come out soon.

Agree to disagree.

Thinking next Friday (not this Friday) is a good date to target for another wave.

Look at the dates of this. You would think they have to let most people know, so they could be in on the calls. This is from the u of m admissions page.
