Great recs, solid EC’s, I think my essay was good

I have to say, the letter was kind of bittersweet. I was pretty sure I was going to be accepted, so I was not surprised. But I really want to go and without a scholarship (I was not offered any, prob. due to my mediocre grades w/ C’s in math and a slight downward trend) I may not be able to afford to.

I guess I’ll have to wait for the Fin Aid letter, but I’m not going to hold my breath since I’m sort of in the middle class trap.

to racerboil12 and something 72 - don’t dwell on it. It’s really hard to redraw the plans we have in our heads for ourselves when everything doesn’t just fall into place. Being looked over doesn’t make you a reject. The universe just has other plans for you. Keep making plans, and keep adjusting them when you need to, never stop looking ahead. My kid got rejected by Northwestern and stayed under the covers for three days. Then a letter came in the mail welcoming her to Tulane with a merit award of 25 grand. You just never know what is out there for you; there are many roads to a destination.

waysouth, i didn’t get any notification as of yet so im assuming i am rejected because if someone in cali got there acceptance letter on the other side of the country and a kid an hour away didn’t that doesn’t look to well.

racerboi, NO u did not get rejected unless u got a letter saying so. just wait it out, u technically have to be notified by the 25th, so u still got 5 days.

thanks for the comfort concord. I had a very mediocre sat score and my gpa was around a 90 which is less then then the people who got deferred although I have some really good ec so that may help.

Everyone I know has received their letter of rejection/deferral/acceptance, except for me. I’m seriously so antsy, just waiting for the mail to come…

Ive called them asking for my admissions decision, and they said no the decision was in the mail. Apparently it was sent on the 15th. I even had my schools top college counselor call and ask, but they again said no. So I’m just plopped on the couch waiting for the mail…

ohh i see. Yea pretty much the same for me. Life sucks right now. Even though fordham isn’t my number one it is just good to know that you could be going to college

To those who have been rejected or deferred, don’t get down. Things have a way of working themselves out. I remember being so upset and sad when I was rejected from the school I wanted to attend. I then looked at my other options and ended up at Fordham. Realistically though that first school I wanted to go to was going to be too expensive of an education and arguably not as good as the one I’m receiving now. By that I mean, assuming you applied wisely to colleges, there’s probably another school on your list that you are just destined to go to which may work out better than what you had even expected had you gotten into Fordham. Life works in funny ways like that.
