You arent going to be reject from BU either. Your stats are above average. And the honors college is automatic. You don’t have to apply.

wow.

Seriously, I know people with really low (on CC standard) stats who got in.

Most of you top 20 students have nothing to worry about :)

I’ve heard that NEU loves to defer people…that’s the only thing bothering me.

Lol the thing Im worried about is my unweighted GPA - I took some math and science classes way over my head sophomore year, and got B’s in both - if I stuck to level 2, since math and science are not my strong suit, I would have gotten an A and my weighted GPA wouldn’t have been hit too hard.

Any reason for BU being first choice for biz school? I would think that NU’s nicer campus, co-op, and strong international program would make it a better choice. Interested to hear your opinion.

BU is my first choice just because I feel like it is more injected into the city than Northeastern is. Honestly, both are neck and neck with me, but since BU has early decision I went for BU.

BU also has an alzheimer’s disease program that I want to get involved in.

But honestly, there isn’t much rhyme or reaosn why i chose BU over northeastern. I would be happy at both.

I can’t believe your worrying about 2 Bs. Your going to get in to both BU and NEU. Did you apply EA for NEU?

my GPA is 3.4, my ACT is 30, but i have a ton of community service, extracurriculars and leadership because i go to a military school. How do my chances look?

Im doing regular admission, but good luck to you all.

Oh dear, this has turned into a stats thread. Well then, I still wish you all the best of luck. I’m not even worried because I can care less…it’s sad really, I should be caring more. Oh well, I’ll tell you when I get accepted/rejected/deferred. :)

Vail23,

If you want to be chanced then make your own thread for it.
This is just a chatting thread :)

WarmGesture, you should care! College=Your future (a part of it at least…!

I think your chances are decent!, assuming that 3.4 is unweighted. If its weighted it might be a bit low

But a 3.4, 30 ACT sounds pretty standard for a NEU applicant - but its a total crap shoot…best of luck!

@BlackRose I don’t care in a way that I am indifferent about which college I have to go to, get accepted to and etc. it’s really not worth stressing over because I know no matter what, I will get into a college anyways. I’m not trying to be cocky, but it’s true. Everyone will get into a college here and it’s just gonna be another 4 years, and you’ll still have to do well in school, find a job, etc. etc. It’s a vicious cycle of worrying and stuff, but it’s time to just enjoy life and not get yourself worked up for once.

If you look at last year’s thread, it was also a stats thread. Just saying.

I heard that decisions start coming out on December 15th. They said that last year it was Thursday the 16th and other years were the corresponding thursday. So this year is the 15th…I hope I’m right

hey so I am a freshman at NEU right now and I did not have tip top grades, weighted gpa around a 3.6, unweighted 3.35, SATs 1800. I applied EA and got deferred, heard back on december 16th. eventually got accepted in march so keep your hopes up.

i also know a lot of people who applied EA lat year and nobody that i know of got rejected flat out, all either accepted or deferred.

Northeastern is near the top of my list. I hope I can get in with my grades…

@totoro66
That’s nice. Let us all commence and be represented by numbers and keep comparing ourselves to others…yay.

well if you don’t like how this thread is turning out, you can leave. no one is being offended or attacked, but encouraged regardless of stats.

The purpose was for discussion, but if you guys want to turn it into a chance thread then fine, turn it into another generic chance thread. Just thought you guys would have a little bit more substance than just, “hey i got x on my sat/gpa, what are your stats, am i going to get in??? omg ur sat is soo good ur getting in omg”. If you didn’t notice we already have a lot of those, and there are enough places in the forums to make these posts. OP didn’t ask for stats, and if you’re encouraging someone regardless of stats, why would you need to know/post stats in the first place if they’re disregarded? Just encourage them. None of us even got in yet and none of us are admissions, if you’re that curious then you can ask after someone is deferred/accepted. Bragging/Posting about it now serves no purpose at all except knowing your competition either making you confident or depressed, but even then who are we to say someone with a 1800 will get in over someone with a 1750?
