OFFICIAL Early Decision Applicants Thread (Columbia Class of 2014)

@AM Obstinate
I had the exact same situation. You have to either send in a check or money order to the undergraduate admissions office.

wait, can someone confirm that we need to send our first quarter grades?

also, someone please answer this for me: i already sent my may/june sat scores. i just recieved my october sat scores but due to the fact that columbia doesn’t use score choice, i would have to send all of my scores which means i would be sending my may/june scores to them twice. is this an issue?

Just submitted part 2!
Good luck everyone.
When do we hear from them?

In June of 2009 I sent my SAT scores to the Fu School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, but for the application I decided to apply to Columbia College. Do I need to re-send my scores to the Undergraduate Admissions Office, or do scores sent to SEAS utilize the same college board code, and therefore coincide with scores sent to Columbia College?

on that note, would sending them today or tomorrow already be too late?

@Saltyballs
I don’t think so, because I’m pretty sure they even accept the November test dates for the SAT’s. Call the office to double check.

I just turned in Part II of the application! I’m super nervous, and not that anxious at the same time.

What’s your opinion on the score-sending dilemma? If I sent it to SEAS would it automatically end up with undergraduate admissions to be accessible by Columbia college?

These SAT scores are the biggest thing in the world for me because I have a 2340, and if they couldn’t find that it would be extremely disappointing.

hey salty, i thought/did the same thing. but i think they just merged the schools for sat sending.

@saltyballs: stop freaking out. it’ll update the scores they have on record with you and in any case, they do superscoring so you have nothing to be worried about.

Just sent in my application for admission II!
I also sent in my SAT scores today…I don’t think it’s too late because, as a few other people mentioned, they accept the November test date as well, so why should sending the October test scores now be too late?

Ahh, good luck everyone! I’m getting nervous already. :)

Oh, does anyone happen to know when exactly we find out the results? I know that it’s always mid-December-ish but when will an exact date/time be available?

do you guys wanna start a list? (which school your applying to/where you are from)

I’m from New York and applying to Columbia College.
Meh, I hope that doesn’t work against me.
