that’s what i’m hoping for. i already sent an email to the admission office. hopefully they will still consider me for ED

@nooaveragegenius: I second dixiesilverjojo’s advice to call the admissions office. However, the Rice admissions office has some of the nicest admissions staff; I know some of them personally, and they are pretty flexible and understanding. For example, as I stated earlier, I didn’t send my high school transcript until January 8th or 9th (January 1st was postmark deadline for the application) because I decided to apply to Rice last minute during winter break. So I’m pretty sure they will understand.

@ all you Rice ED applicants: Trust me, it will be December 15th before you know it… the application cycle, especially the ED one, goes by very quickly. Before you know it, y’all will be graduating from your high schools. Senior year goes by very quickly, and I wish I could do it all over again. Enjoy your senior year while it lasts! Good luck to y’all! Rice is truly a special gem.

omg december 14th…i wish we knew today lol

Hey guys! My name’s Irma and I also applied to Rice ED!!! I’m from Texas and plan on majoring in Chemical Engineering!

So anxious to hear back from Rice, so if anyone hears back, good or bad, they should totally post it on here!

@cocoaluna: You do realize that Rice only has a business minor, right?

To be honest, you can still do business without majoring in business as an undergrad. In addition to the business minor, Rice does have programs in economics, mathematical economic analysis, and managerial studies, which all relate somewhat to the field of business.

Most of the other top twenty universities, with the exception of UPenn-Wharton, Emory, and JHU, also do not offer undergrad business majors. But they have plenty of grads who succeed in the field of business.

Did anyone else get a “Rice Parking Registration” link on their Esther page? does that mean anything? I can’t believe I’m already looking for indicators that i got accepted…this is gonna be a long month.

@jspecht: hahaha nah, everyone has that on their page. I know…my heart stopped when I saw that haha

My heart stopped too!
I was wow, does this mean that I got accepted?!
Then I asked my best friend, who attends Rice…everyone has that…lol.

ok, that’s what I figured. Goodness, I hate waiting!

Okay, so I checked last years thread and it looks like they found out whether they got accepted or not on December 13/14…which is SO sad because I wanna know now!!! lol.

Wow really??! IDK about that, this guy my age told his family he got accepted almost last month. Hmm…

Really?
I don’t think Rice has officially accepted anyone yet…
However, that is just to my knowledge and what I heard from a friend who attends Rice…

I got rejected on last Tuesday :(

Good luck to everyone else

^well they haven’t processed my application yet but i’m sure i will also get rejected.

wait, Jcarroll, why/how do you know so soon??

Oh…I was a transfer applicant forgot to mention that

ohh okay if your a transfer that makes sense, because my status still says application under review!

lol, i am just as nervous as all of you… i will be sooo relieved dec. 15 no matter what happens…unless i get rejected :)

Last year they (accidentally?) released my financial aid letter which stated that I had been accepted prior to my “official” acceptance. So, possibly keep an eye out for that, if you applied for FA of course.
