Duke University Admissions Application Confirmation

December 2, 2008

Dear ...:

Greetings from Duke! We have received your application and are sending this update to be sure that we have correctly entered important information and to inform you how to check the status of your application on-line.

Our records indicate that your application was submitted using the following method: Common application on paper (supplement). Please be sure to complete your application using the same method. Both the Duke Student Supplement and application need to be submitted to ensure completion of your application.
Important Information about Checking on Your Application and Receiving Your Decision:

To check the status of your application on-line, visit our home page at Duke University Admissions and click on Application Checklist located under The D: header.

You can monitor your application status, and eventually receive your admissions decision on-line—if you want. If any material is missing from your application, we will notify you by November 12, 2008 for Early Decision, February 16, 2009 for Regular Decision, and by March 27, 2009 for Transfer. Please add the following email addresses to your email address book to make sure you receive communications from our office:
support@admissions.duke.edu, dukeapp09@de1.uga.duke.edu

It is important that you keep us up-to-date throughout the course of the year. If any information changes—in particular with regard to disciplinary or legal issues—between the time you submit your application and the time the admissions process concludes, you must notify us right away. This means if you are admitted to Duke, you must keep us informed about changes until you enroll as a student.
Verifying Your Information:

Please check the following information for accuracy and let us know if any corrections are necessary. Mark through any error(s) with a single line and write the correct information to the right of the incorrect information. Please be sure to print all corrections legibly since faxes are sometimes hard to read. If the information is correct, you do not need to do anything. If you are returning this sheet with corrections, remember to sign at the bottom, and make a copy for your records.
I got it. Insane. I had no idea we would get it in three days, and the realization just hit me that my entire Christmas break and spring semester will be determined this Thursday. If I get in, I will have a hard time focusing for the rest of my senior year. Oh darn.

haha YankeesGiants I know what you mean. When I read that line I was kind of like "and you are implying...?"

Don't worry guys if you didn't get the email. It should come by Wednesday at latest, and make sure to check your spam folder (my friend had it in there).

are you saying that someone has already received notification?

so uhm, just about 66 hours and 12 minutes to go. i think. im so tired that's probably so wrong haha

Yep ambition, 66 hours to go. I'm going to have fun trying to sleep Wednesday night.

Eyeforwit, your earlier post about how Thursday is going to decide our winter break and spring semester is so true!! I've been comparing and contrasting how Thursday night could change the rest of my senior year..... sigh I bet I'm going to sit and wait in front of my laptop right after-school until 6pm.

Good luck everyone!!

well at least we are getting "seperate two emails"...you think they would have someone edit that website. unbelievable

haha YankeesGiants I thought the same thing. It would be pretty impressive if they left subtle clues as to whether an applicant was accepted/deferred/denied in the body of the email. That would almost excuse the utter lack of proofreading on their emails.

2 days!!
Good Luck everyone!
