umm, yea--Wudaddy-- i just called and they said mine was also sent out today, and the earliest i''l probably find out is wednesday/thursday....but my last name starts with an "E" so....yea idk what they're doing

Man...I just checked online and I got rejected...
Oh well, there's always other schools to look forward to. Good luck to the rest of you.

I'm sorry to hear that Wudaddy, good luck with your other colleges. I'm sure you will be just as happy at other places.

sorry Wudaddy, I guess if carnegie couldn't take you then its their loss b/c their missing out on having a great student :) Good luck with your rest schools though!

I still haven't received a notification... this wait is terrible haha.

@Wudaddy. you're the lucky one. Here. Go to a state school, and party your ass off. To all others who got in, welcome to hell.

despair.

Theotherguy,

Are you an URM ?

Hey all you EDr's congrats on your acceptances!!

I just had a CMU interview the other day, and I wasn't sure if I should apply but my interview was amazing!! It was just under 2 hours long, and the lady loved me! She said shes going to put in a lot of good words for me, and was urging me the whole entire time that CMU was the best place for me. I think CMU might be a little above my standards, could someone who was accepted/deffered/rejected post their stats?

Also if anyone thought the interview was weighted heavily/not at all, or knows anything about how CMU views the interviews.

Thanks guys!

Bruno...uh...what is an "URM"?

Engineering_Gal, I made it into SCS with a 2200 SAT (750 CR, 690 M, 760 W), 3.88 UW GPA, 5.25 WGPA, 33rd rank.

I'm not sure how CMU ranks interviews, but I too had a very long, very good interview. My interviewer seemed very impressed with my ECs and my hobbies and encouraged me to apply because I appeared so passionate.

URM = Under Represented Minority.

No, I'm a white male from Texas.

Thanks Theotherguy, anyone else willing to post their stats? -thanks

In to SCS with:

3.44 UW (hard school, does not weight or rank), 36 ACT, 800 on Physics SAT2, 790 on Math IIC. Varsity athlete, good recs and essay.

Rejected SCS

Man...

when did you receive notification of your decision mmeyers? also was it online or by mail?

mmeyers:
Did you apply ED?

got it online and yes, ED II. 3.6 UW 4.11 W, 2200 SAT, Yearbook Editor-in-Chief and I was at the Pre-College Program

mmeyers, what sort of computer programming experience did you have?

Uhh I took 15-100 (intro) at Carnegie Mellon this summer and am taking a programming class at my high school this semester. i was also on the competitional programming team at CMU this summer while i was there.

That's actually quite nice. I don't know why you wouldn't have gotten in.

I got in with similar stats, and took no previous courses at CMU.

I have taken three years of CS though, and went to an international conference to present a 2D physics simulation I coded, as well as do UIL CS competitions.

It must have had something to do with your EC's, or maybe specific grades in specific classes...who knows...
