i applied undecided to CAS but cinema studies is sorta likely for me. Did you apply to Tisch or CAS for cinema studies? and if you did CAS i don’t believe they admit by major… just so you know (Tisch I can’t say that for, not sure)

That’s how they SHOULD decide but they really don’t. I was looking at some portfolios of people who had been accepted into NYU tisch for photography last year and they were absolutely horrible. And they all looked the same. They’re looking for one certain look. My academics are fine so I am not worried about that.

Well this is what i heard from a tisch professor

When the portfolio looks like it was shot by 10 different people it almost never works. What any good program is looking for is a body (or bodies) of work that tell us who you are as a creative individual. If you look at the websites of different established photographers you will see that even though they might work on many different projects there is still a fingerprint to all of the work. You can include 2-4 different projects, just keep an eye on your identity.

I don’t think someone who was just rejected from their #1 college would want to post that or even want to see the NYU thread thats covered with recently accepted students

LSP= Liberal Studies Program (Where NYU places some applicants from CAS, Gallatin, and Tisch Film if they want them at NYU for some reason, but can’t admit them to the original program.) Just look for topics on the forum called LSP or GSP for more in depth info.

LSP is liberal studies program. it is for people who werent admitted to their college, but instead put in this program because they are outstanding applicants for nyu. you cannot apply directly to it.

CAS is the college of arts and science at nyu.

Well guys and gals we are soon to be in the home stretch for early decision applications. For what I know our fates are already sealed. Keep put heads up guys and don’t stalk your mailman…atleast not until friday. Goodnight and goodluck.
