Official ED Thread Class of 2014!

@sleepinggrunt

I feel the same way…but the time will come soon enough. After all this is done hopefully all of us will laugh on this life altering experience. Cause my blood pressure is doing backflips!

Dude, everytime I see a letter addressed to me my heart skips three beats, everytime I see a new email in my inbox I flip out until I realize it’s not from NYU

I just hope the decision won’t make me feel worse than I am already

Take a hot, hot, hot shower. Relax your mind.

I was pretty nervous - granted, not even remotely close to how nervous you are - but the shower helped. I’m as calm as something really calm.

They weren’t LSP. They got in for the College of Arts and Sciences.

photographylife: DAMN. NOW is the time to panic slams panic button repeatedly wait…in the mail? Postmarked when? Can you tell us?

EDIT: what major were they? Undecided?

what the hell are true religion jeans anyway

Can’t wait for D-Day!

I’m not sure what major and when it was postmarked but I’ll be sure to ask tomorrow

can they send me my letter asap? k thanks byee.

You know those mindless bimbos in New Jersey who get those stupid tans, Coach and Chanel -arize everything, and are obsessed with Ed Hardy and True Religion?

They exist in New Jersey, predominately around the Jersey Shore. That’s like mecca. And then they exist in Staten Island. Big time in Westchester (especially around Harrison/Eastchester/the trashy section of Scarsdale that has Eastchester schools), and naturally, in LA. Apparently, it made its way to the outskirts and small town gals like babygrl are dressing that way.

Most of them are poor and their dads are working classmen so the Chanel and Coach are fake and bought at cheap hair salons, but some of them, are born into working class, heavily italian, families that somehow got ahead (I’m thinking of illegal activities) and are able to afford the real Coach and Chanel for their little hoochie mama. Those are the ones with the bigger ego and like to flash around daddy’s dineros.

Little do they know: they dress like hoes and are obnoxious as all hell.

(Can you tell I plan on studying socioeconomics and materialism?)

Walls of text are fun, though!

Monoclide- if you get in, we should hang. Socioeconomics + materialism = conspicuous consumption (Marchand) = my major! Yeah!

P.S: those staten island girls suck. and i’m totally not that kind of girl. (wrong race).

for a visual representation of monoclide’s post, see ‘jersey shore’. And it’s not just the women!!!

While you people are sweating it out by the mailboxes, I’m here on campus freaking out because I have a 20 page paper, another 18 page paper and photography prints all due within THREE DAYS of each other. Argh!

I procrastinate on here so much.

Hey we have midterms too.

Missamericanpie: Definitely!

I applied to Gallatin with Bagel Brigades & Co. as my major - the study of socioeconomics, materialism, and political history.

I am reading this gorgeous book: Rich - the rise and fall of American Wealth Culture by Larry Samuel. It’s a research book so it reads slow - but, filled with amazing details. Only about 300 pages, as well!

heyy whats the facebook group for all this?

@monoclide

I highly suggest you look at the book “advertising the american dream” by marchand. (it’s on google books.) it talks about the rise of consumer culture starting in the 1920s. it’s really fascinating and i read parts of it in one of my media classes.

Why don’t you type in ‘NYU 2014 ED’ in search and find out?

Will definitely look into it! I’m working through Atlas Shrugged (omg, so amazing) right now and will need something to read after!

@sleeping grunt

I know, I know, midterms suck too. But I bet your papers don’t count for 40% of your overall grade! ~tears hair out~

It’s like if I’m not on here, I’m on Facebook. . .

So we got another week on us the latest. Anyone know if they send rejections and acceptances at the same time, or do rejections come out after acceptances?
