Official ED Thread Class of 2014!

Gallatin!
Good luck everyone ;)

hey, what do you mean he tracked them on CC? I thought there were no electronic way or any other way to find out the admission status other than through mail…?

@Shandrydan

hey i applied to steinhardt too! idk if im gonna get in at all bc im on the very low range of their SAT scores. do you mind sharing your stats with me? hopefully we can both get in :)

What I meant was that my son was on CC and saw people posting when they were admitted. Since people received their admissions letters over the course of about 7-10 days, people began to speculate why they hadn’t heard yet. It turned out that a lot of people hadn’t heard because the mail was slow, not because they were waitlisted or rejected. I wish that he had known that it might take awhile to receive the letter, because, by the time he got his acceptance, there was a lot of talk on CC that the longer it took to receive word, the more likely it was to be a rejection- it caused a lot of undue stress.

Hey NYUwouldbenice - I saw your chances thread and my stats are WAAAAY below yours. Honestly, on paper I don’t have much of a chance, but I applied ED and we’ll see what happens. It’s always worth a shot. Rejection sucks but not trying sucks even more :slight_smile: best of luck!

@Shandrydan

yeah i agree totally and i respect you alot for trying :slight_smile: and i just read this thread about how colleges discriminate against asian applicants which was pretty discouraging but ohwell its life

anyways it will be nice if they take the time to look at our entire app instead of throwing it away if we dont make the cutoff stats.

but good luck!!! and keep in touch, and lemme know around mid-dec if you get in or not

ED to CAS :)

But NYU does notify us of acceptance through email right? Doesn’t that all come out at the same time?

CAS :)

Does anybody know when e-mail responses will start being sent out?

^
Eventhough I didn’t apply ED I’m also interested in when others will start hearing back.

Stern - Management/Business Administration

GPA - 3.82
SAT - 1430/2180

An acceptance letter would assuage my tension, but December seems so distant.

ED acceptances / rejections come the ~2nd week of december by mail, but I think you can check your status around that time online by trying to log into the NYU home site.

Question,
If you got LSP’d, would you still attend NYU?

CAS!
If I got LSPd I would absolutely still attend!!

i would, most definitely

Mehh, I don’t know… it seems like it’s just a program where if you’re not good enough to attend the college of your choice they accept you so they can get your money…

GAAAALLATIN.

If I get LSP’d, whatever. NYU is NYU.

CAS, if i get LSPed I’ll wait to see if I got into UMich Early Response but still probably choose NYU since I don’t have to pay tuition at NYU (father is a professor, mother an administrator there)

I applied to Tisch, Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. I’m also a product of Tisch’s Summer High School Program, but Good Luck to all who applied Early!

@woosah92
luckyyyyyyyyy. i tried so hard to convince my mom to apply for a job there back when she was looking for a new job but she denied. i was trying to save her a lot of money

i applied to Gallatin ED…yeah, we’ll see…im pretty decent on paper but ED will hopefully increase my chances…it just sucks though because if I dont get enough finacial aid im gonna have to revoke my ED =/…that would suck so bad
