They are putting them up in waves, if I had to guess it’s probably the most qualified first, then less qualified, then etc . I got my decision midnight last night , and people had started getting them on Friday, so there definately still is hope.

Yours might update anytime, just keep cheking

@kid I saw a rep post saying that they send it in waves with each wave having acceptance and rejection letters. So I doubt they post the most qualfied first and so on…I haven’t yet seen any CIT acceptances out yet so probably that is yet to come?

There are over 25,000 applicants to CMU-- rising each year of the last three dramatically.
You are speaking to a very very very isolated sample on CC and should not be worrying one way or the other or trying to read into the implications of your lack of response yet based on the responses of the small sample her on cc. THere are at most 30 people here giving you information - hardly reasonable. You’d have a larger sample at FB 2014 - and interestingly, if you review the FB 2014 pages- there’s not yet a Tepper sub-school…just a minor point to note.

Relax until the 15th. Perhaps by Friday the 18th you can phone admissions and see what’s going on with your application - but no sooner. Your GC might make the call for you-- ??

From experience…both my kids applied to CMU in recent years-- and there were errors on the “where am I in the process” webpage for both of them…their infrastructure hasn’t grown as fast as the number of applications they are receiving. CMU also combines staff addressing freshman admissions and financial aid…an overwhelming task.

Sit tight – perhaps you can be more relaxed if you stop posting here every hour… you’re feeding your worries with conjecture and nothing but isolated anecdotes…not healthy. If you are going to Tepper-- you will soon learn that objective criteria are important to decision making.

All the best…let us know next week where you stand.

I was notified of my decision Thursday night (Accepted to IS) and got my letter Friday. Apparently they had mailed my decision December 7 (monday), I live in north NJ. Hope that helps.

I second what mom2012 says. Though if it makes you guys feel better to express your worries online, go ahead and do it. If it makes you feel worse, then don’t. But the same stuff is posted every year, and absolutely nobody can make sense of when/how you find out who gets accepted. All the posts about blank line, waves, etc. Groundhog day.

My son, who was accepted last year, never got an online decision updated. I think it is still not on there. He didn’t know till he got the letter…rather late, I might add. 25,000 applications is way more than they can handle.

And if you get turned down ED, hopefully you applied to lots of other CMU colleges RD so you can aggressively pursue it that way. But I know it would be wonderful to have it all wrapped up right now.
