@ Chimikins - That is heaven to my ears. I will call them tomorrow and see what my situation is.

Considering that you turned in your stuff 1.5 weeks ago, I think I’m good even though they received my stuff a few days late. :)

Also, I wonder what they have to say about the my parents’ income tax forms which need to be signed even though they were signed when I turned them in…
Anyway, my parents faxed it again for me today, with their signatures again of course.

Does anyone know when they’ll let us know about our financial aid awards? I turned all of my financial aid documents way before the deadline so I’m just anxious/curious/wondering. (:

I called the office today and they said everyone should have it by next Wednesday, and if you don’t have it by then you should give them a call.

Has anyone else decided what they are going to do for housing?

Second year students are required to live on campus, so I’m still deciding where to apply for housing.

Like I mentioned before, I’m probably going to go for a single student room but I’d like to hear what you guys are going to do just so I have an idea.

I just got Financial Aid letter through e-mail. A little bit lower than I have expected. But I realized that they did not include any loans (is this for everyone?)
I will be able to afford if they offer some loans

@allisonnian- I got the FA email last night as well. I feel that that the amount that they are giving me in grants is lower than what I need. However, they did tell me how much they will give me in loans, and still, I feel it is not enough.

I believe that on their website, it says that there is a way to appeal your aid offer. I’m going to go read that first and then decide what to do. It looks like they didn’t take into consideration the email that I sent them regarding my dad’s lay off.

Hi guys, i’ve been lurking in this thread for some time… I am accepted by Emory, but it’s like a bitter sweet because I am also accepted by U michigan-ann arbor, and U virginia. I just don’t know which one will better fit me…
Anyone can give me some advice? I want to major in either chemistry or physics, and I would like to go to grad school. Which one I should choose? Thank you for your patience and your valuable suggestions!!

@wilson: at this point, I would choose the one who gave you the most financial aid. however, if you want to major in chem or physics then i would recommend emory because of the smaller, more intimate classes. otherwise, it’s really a toss up. they’re all great schools, so no matter where you choose, it’s fine.

Just got my financial aid and boy am I disappointed. I’d have to pay a little too much to go to Emory, so I don’t think it is even an option. I don’t understand how Emory Advantage works, because I easily qualify for it.

Come on… I couldn’t believe it when I looked at my financial aid… My family is middle class but we recently filed for bankruptcy T_T . We can’t afford $50,000+ a year for two years! That’s why I attended a community college in the first place! To save my parents $60,000+ dollars.

Oh I really love Emory and I would love to attend! I’ve spent two years trudging my way through a community college so that I could finally attend a great college/ university. Now that I’m here I can’t afford it T_T.

^Downtown Atlanta housing won’t be cheap. It shouldn’t be 13,800 expensive either though. I currently pay around $600 and I live in a suburb of Atlanta.

Yea, seems like Emory is not an option for me. I figured I might qualify for Emory Advantage since my parents have a combined income of less than $60,000, but I guess not.

I got screwed too. I got the email about my financial aid for Emory today and I would have to pay a little less than half. I have a sibling who is about to enter college and I don’t think my parents can afford the EFC Emory has determined for us…
