^ Yea I don’t think they would ask for a Final transcript maybe just current then Spring Grades Request after you finish up spring. Either way seems like your the only one so that must be a good sign lol

@tndud

I just called and they said if you have over 30 credits, the midterm report is not required, but it is recommended (they would like to see it)

Lol ah I was getting really happy too because all of you guys were saying it was a good thing but I just logged into Opus again and now it’s gone. I don’t know what to think!

Something to note: From what I’ve read, whatever Emory says is optional, or not required, is technically required in order to boost your chances.

The person who wrote the post I read, said that when she went for a campus visit, the representative told her to do the “Optional Essay” if she really wanted to get in. The same could apply to the Mid Term Report, since it’s “recommended”.

Anyway, I hope we do well! 16 more days to go.

^ Well that does make sense … Do you guys think it’s to late for me to send in my Mid-Term Report? I was always going to but I was going to send it at the same time as Boston College. I think i’ll be sending it this Friday … Is that to late for Emory? Well another question is has Emory rejected 4.0 students for Business Transfers? Like not “I heard” but like actual rejections when the student had 60+ units and a 4.0?

@Transfer20I3 Well even if you were to send your midterm report tomorrow, they would receive it next Monday. (Sunday isn’t a business day) I don’t think it’s worth it, since by that time, there would be less than two weeks for them to give the decision, but you can certainly try.

I don’t know about the answer to your second question. However, the reason why I would not apply as a sophomore business student to Emory is because you would have to spend 1 year in the College of Arts and Sciences before transferring to the Business School, where you would spend the last two years of undergrad. So if you apply as a sophomore, it would take a total of 5 years at least, to get your undergrad degree.

By the way, who here is applying as a freshman transfer?

@esai I am. Although I am not sure if I will go even if I am accepted. I accidentally send in my Student verification worksheet a couple days past the financial aid deadline of March 15th. They say that you must turn in all the forms before March 15th to be eligible for institutional aid, which I would need.

Is the Student Verification Worksheet the stuff you send to IDOC? If so, let me tell you that I sent mine a few days late.

It was carelessness on my part, but I didn’t even know about IDOC untill I got an email about it after turning in my CSS Profile on March 10th. I started panicking, got everything together, and was able to send all the required documents to IDOC the next day. The problem was that it would take 2 days to get there and it would take IDOC about 4 days to “process” the information, and perhaps 2 more days for it to get to Emory, if they sent it by mail and not fax. So my documents ended up reaching Emory by the 19th, the latest, which was 4 days after the deadline.

I called Emory and told them my problem and they said it was no problem because I had all my other documents turned in. Now recently, I got an email saying that I had not turned in my Parents’ Federal Tax Forms which is weird since I made sure I turned in everything. I called Emory and they said to just fax it straight to them since IDOC had processed my documents already. I faxed the documents the same day, and I called them the next day to ask about the aid I would receive. They said that it would be up to my “Aid Advisor” to decide that.

So now my question is, is this Institutional Aid that we are talking about, the only aid available for transfer students? I’m pretty sure it is, but I just want to make sure.

@esai23 I’m applying as a Junior with 60+ credits and a 4.0 GPA. Hopefully I will get into Goizueta as an Accounting major … Although Emory is a GREAT school it isn’t my first choice but getting accepted is always good =D

And about the financial aid, although the deadline is march 15th if you send it in late it shouldn’t affect you much or your aid that much although some financial aid staff told me it could hurt a little in your aid. So I guess it just depends

@Transfer20I3, thanks for the info!

And for me, Emory is my top choice! So I really hope I get in. I put all I could into those essays.

When do you guys think we’ll find out for the priority deadline?

@neja101

From what I read and heard, April 26th.

I’m so nervous, Emory is my top choice too!

@esai Institutional aid is the majority of the aid that students with financial need receive. You are still eligible for federal aid (e.g. Pell Grant, Subsidized loans), if you aren’t granted institutional aid. And the verification statement was on their site. There was one with IDOC too; I don’t know why you had to fill out and mail two separate things stating the same thing.

@SAT100

hi brother
i see you everywhere lol
and guys, mid-term report is REQUIRED of trasnfer students no matter how many credits you guys have taken. Their website is simply WRONG.
I fought with the very rude lady in admission for this and i told her to post right information, or email applicants and ask them to send in mid-term report and whatever…
the lady said the deadline for it as a priority applicant is Apr, 8, and if late, it’s gonna be considered a regular one.

Thanks tndud6364 for clarifying things up for us! Their deadlines are so weird… They didn’t even say anything about April 8 on their website.

@SAT100 Bro it’s my fault. I was careless and thought that the CSS profile and FAFSA was all that was necessary. It was only after submitting CSS profile did I get an email giving me an account for IDOC. That was the first time I had honestly heard of something called IDOC.

Anyway, they might have received the IDOC stuff from IDOC themselves a few days late, even though I technically sent it before the deadline. Regardless, whatever happens is for the best. I’m not even worried about it now, since I really can’t do anything.

Like I mentioned before, they sent an email saying that they didn’t have my parents’ tax returns. But I turned that in the day I heard about it. Anyway, whatever happens, happens.

First I have to get into Emory anyway! Only after that can I think about the aid I’ll receive.

Does Emory send an e-mail to state the application completion, or we just check missing documents on OPUS?

they both email u and send a letter to your home that says they will begin reviewing your application soon, but u should keep checking what is missed on opus

@allisonnian I got an email regarding what I was missing the day after it was posted on OPUS. Therefore, I would definitely check OPUS regularly.
