Official Fall '07 Transfer Thread =)

Nope, I haven't heard back from them yet. I hope I get to know by tomorrow. If not, then I'm pretty sure I'll get rejected.

Me either; exactly the same feeling as Mightynick. Tomorrow seems to be our last chance...

I have a question for you guys. I am deciding between Penn State and GWU. I would not have hesitated if I could afford to attend PSU(and study Arch), yet GWU might give me a big financial aid award. I was admitted into the Columbian College of Arts & Science in GWU. I think the liberal arts program can also can fit me well. I like its location too.

Do you have any opinions about the George Washington University? Thanks a lot!

I'm not so sure about GWU. However, if finances are a big issue and GWU is offering you a big financial aid award, then I'd go with GWU.

Hey I think I missed something-- why is tomorrow significant in the waitlisted transfer process? When I called UVa yesterday they said it would be another week to ten days but they hoped to have the waitlist closed by the 15th

Really~Another week?! Thank you for this information! It seems it's me and Nick who missed something :)

We thought this way because Dean J wrote on May 22 that "We'll start going to the transfer waitlist over the course of the next week to ten days."

Its because I think if they are gonna accept students off the waitlist then the one's that are "good" enough should hear back by tomorrow. If not, then you're likely to hear back by the 15th.

Well that makes sense. I find it annoying that they created a transfer student blog but never post any information on it. Now would be the time to keep us updated!

Almost 5pm. I think i'm rejecteeeeeeeeeeed. Bye Bye UVA.

Hey, don't be so pessimistic. There's another week, and therein lies the hope.

any waitlisted transfer applicants check their status page yet? Mine has been deactivated. What about yours?

Mine changed too. (The page appears the same as what it was before the decision was released.)

I called them up and they said they're sending out letters this week, and we'll definately hear by the end of next week. I'm assuming those who get in will hear back by Friday this week. Also, acceptances will be sent out on a rolling admission basis, so I guess the most qualified hear back earlier.

Thank you for the information! I am wondering will they send Emails before they send out acceptance letters (as they do with the first year waitlisters)?

She said, "As far as I know, we will be sending out letters only". So I dunno if the accepted get emails as well.

Here is the information from the UVA transfer blog posted today.

Sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. We will be going to the wait list for all of the schools with the exception of the Architecture and Education schools. I know this is unfortunate news for many of you, but with so few spots and so many great candidates, it is difficult to go to the wait list for these schools.

We expect to take 50-75 students off of the waitlist for the other schools. The majority will come come from the "College(College of Arts and Sciences)" or the E(ngineering) School.

We hope to mail these letters with the next 7-10 days.

Did anyone who is transferring to UVA re-take the SAT or ACT? I didn't know that anyone ever took those tests after graduating from high school, but from reading the posts on CC I see that some people take the tests again.

I guess we should be hearing any day now. Please post when you hear anything.

Hopefully this evening.

Postman came and went....nothing in the mail.

This is pathetic. Why the hell can't they just tell us online?
