Well, to chime in, I have a hard time believing you didn't get in! But seriously, shoe and cav are entirely right. Anne Arbor is really a fantastic school, and you will go just as far from there as you would have if you had gone to UVa. Best of luck in all yoru endeavors.

Thanks for the cheering up guys. Its finally sinking in.

Ann Arbor is reallllllllly cold and windy. I went to the campus tour on April 16th and the temperature was in the low 40s. I was all bundled up! They also had half a foot of snow the week before.

MightNick-- sorry to see that you too were screwed over by the community college agreement. Anne Arbor is awesome-- good luck to you.

I am sorry to hear that, MightyNick. Yet you must feel better now since so many people in this forum are rooting for you, and since UM is really a very fantastic school. Good luck to your future.

The postman have NOT come yet, so strange...

I was a victim of the same kind of system. I got waitlisted at UT and then rejected after sending two great essays and a very effective appeal letter. When I got the rejection, it blatantly said that My SAT (1340) was below the 1350 preferred for most engineering majors (applied to biochemistry!!!). Also,it went on saying that the top 10% state rule (which grants automatic admission to any HS student coming from TX hs in the top 10% of the class) was crowding the freshmen class and forcing more strict standards from oos applicants.

I do think that your SAT score might have been a little on the low side mightynick. Like you said, your hs stats were probably the reason they waitlisted and rejected you, most specifically your standardized test scores. What surprises me is that you already had a bunch of college credits and they still held that against you.

Btw, does anyone know if UVA(or top publics) is taking the writing portion of the SAT into consideration at this point?

I finally got my letter...REJECTED

I will go to George Washington btw.

Sorry to hear that Apple822. Best of luck at GWU - I know a few people going there and they love it. Btw, was your rejection letter dated June 15th? Mine is and I wonder why they took so long to mail it.

Anyway, frasifrasi you're probably right. My SAT score was on the lower side (710 Math, 600 Verbal, 700 Writing - 1310/1600, 2010/2400) for an OOS kid, which is why I got rejected last year as a first year applicant. This year I thought my college GPA would have compensated for that low SAT. Guess not.

Thanks for the good luck Braird. Same to you man.

Yes, my letter was dated June 15 too. Maybe they once struggled and wanted to give us a last shot.(just to console myself)

Thank you Mightynick. I hope I will enjoy my life at GWU...at least they give me a fantastic huge scholarship award.

MightyNick, will you apply to U.VA the next year? (I think I probably will.)

Definately not. I don't think it makes sense to transfer 2 times in college - it looks bad on your academic record. Besides, its not as if UMich is any worse than UVa overall.
