Yeah really. I figure at this point, it's less than a week. And the weekends are easy(er) to get through. Sooo, let's keep our fingers crossed for each other, eh? =P

Oh, and the first person to get their letter had better post here before they even open their letter =P

i called the admissions office today just to see what they are saying about transfers. They are sticking to the "you will hear by may 1st" deal. i was so sure we were going to hear this week. its very hard for me to deal with this!!!

Boooooo! Man, thank god my mailbox is far away and i can only reach it for 6 hours a day, otherwise, i'd be stalking the poor thing!

I reaalllyy want my decision, because my year is pretty much over except for one final and I need something to talk/think about :( This whole lack of learning and thinking these days suuucckksss!

YYYYAAAYYY!! Hahah I saw that someone had posted, then saw that it was Dean J, and leaped for joy.

But Monday :( And I realllllyyy wanted to get the letter first, not the online decision. Online decisions just seem so impersonal, and it seems like you're getting rejected/accepted by a computer, not a real person. But, I can't wait another week to find out, so I may just take my computer somewhere nice/outside and find out that way.

PS- Dean J: I drove through C'ville Sunday (I live in NoVa, so its a much nicer drive to take Rt 29 to I-64 to I-81, plus C'ville is halfway so it was dinner/gas time when I reached it) and I saw everything. It was very moving, and truely amazing seeing UVa adorned with orange and maroon. Thank you, to you and your entire community :)

Probably home ones, seeming they asked for an address that's available until May 1. After that, I'd assume they'd send it home since most students are leaving with the two weeks after that.

Jps36: if you get in, log into your ISIS account ASAP to change your home/temporary addresses if needed. I had a grand old time last year, because different things were being sent to different addresses, and I didn't even know that I could log into ISIS to change my address. So just keep that in mind.

Last year it was just an envelope with a letter of congratulations and a couple of forms to return. The envelope is just a little bigger than a standard business envelope, and an off-white color. Good memories of that day...

It is, but that's why I said if Jps is admitted he/she should log into it and change the address if needed. As long as you have a UVA computing ID you can log into things like ISIS, and you get the computing ID after paying the deposit and passing an online test.

Not that using ISIS is anything to get excited about. Ugh. ISIS.

ISIS's replacement has already been purchased. The University will start migrating to it next year. It'll take a little time to get every department moved to the new system, but it'll be well worth the wait. The new system is very good and is much easier to use.

The dying process of ISIS is good to hear. One thing I love about VT is our class look-up/registration process is sooo easy, and i've heard/seen horror stories about ISIS.

1) I always wanted to go to UVa, but I was rejected freshman year
2) I love atmosphere of the Grounds
3) Thomas Jefferson
4) Larry Sabato--I'm obsessed with politics
5) I grew up around WashU, and at least 100 people from my high school go here (even though each grade at my HS was limited to 100 people)
6) I feel that UVa will better prepare me for law school (WUSTL would better prepare me for med school
7) 1,000 other reasons

Can I take your place at Washington if you leave? I'll take Washington over where I'm at now if I don't get into UVA next spring (haven't applied yet)

Anyway, since this is the transfer thread, I thought you guys could answer this question for me. Does UVA give any merit scholarships to transfers? I realize that AccessUVA program gives alot of money, but what merit money?
