Current state: Pensively waiting for late April…

KelliC03, do you have any Transfer Agreements with UCSD, UCSC, UCSB, or Davis? If so, you’re guarantted admission to all of them. If not…you’re still in at all of them lol.

The average GPA applied is a 3.37. With a 3.43, you are above that. Assuming half of the students have a 3.37 or less, that would leave 540 students with above a 3.37. 436 were accepted into UCLA’s political science last year. So, assuming that all 436 that were accepted were in that upper 540 (of course this is not the case, but a high percentage are), then 436/540 or 80.7% were accepted with GPA’s above 3.37.

In other words, I would say you have around a 60% chance. I’ll estimate a 20% error in my own calculations due to all of the assumptions. So, you have anywhere from a 40%-80% chance. Of course, this is all simple estimation, but it can’t hurt.

I have some questions too:

Do you have an upward grade trend? This is important.
Do you have IGETC done?

Anyways, I’m not sure about Berkeley’s political science program, but you probably have around the same shot. If you wrote strong essays for both campuses, I’m sure your chances will be strong.

damn, i can’t wait. but again, i dont wanna move out to a university, only berkeley since i have family there. i had such a crappy time at UCI and i just wanna stick around my area, best area in California

^ interesting, my cousin just left uci after his first quarter to go back home and attend cc because he hated it there so much…and also wishes to go to berkeley now lol

Major: Nutritional Science
G.P.A. 3.85 (if A-'s are worth 3.7; that’s how my LAC calculates it)
EC: Activities Coordinator of a club on campus, Prehealth club and BSU (but I’m white…) Did a lot of volunteering over the summer.
Working part time, decent essays, some prereqs done.

I’m not expecting to get in anywhere since I’m trying to transfer in from a LAC. There’s so many GE requirements here, that I’m not too far into the prereqs. But I figured I might as well give it a shot. I’m at least hoping the local CSU will take me at this point.
