***Official Fall 2011 UPENN Transfer Thread***

Accepted. Woo! See you in the fall.

@haveanupvote: you could be in some trouble becozof the C+, but I wish you all the very best for UPENN !!

Accepted to Wharton. Till when are we supposed to reply to the offer?

Ah I had the same thing about the asking for a mid-term report. They asked two weeks ago and I sent one in with all A’s. Just read the rejection :(

Thanks dakhors! I’m pretty nervous about that C+ but Penn wouldn’t rescind based on just one bad grade that was influenced by one bad test, right?

@haveanupvote: i dont think it is going 2 influence much becoz any1 can have a bad exam at any tym n even the admissions officers know that. You must have shown sheer excellence in high school, SAT scores n ur college performance that u were better than about 1700 other students who applied. So according to me njoy ur summer !!! congrats once again !!

do you guys mind posting stats? (including HS GPA/ what type of school you’re transferring from)

congrats to the admitted students! For those of you that got in, what tips do you have to approaching the penn transfer essay?

Got into Wharton! Longest flight of my life with four hours of delay but this news just made my life :)))))))))) Is Penn going to make us a Facebook group?

Congrats to all who applied / were accepted !

Accepted for SEAS    I can’t believe it !! Anyone else from Canada ?

Accepted
Does anyone know when the financial aid decisions will come out? The “mid to late May” is very vague…

How many transfers does wharton accept? What’s the transfers’ acceptance rate for wharton?

rejected from wharton :((( … I feel sick to my stomach

Accepted! yay, sorry to everyone who wasnt best of luck with everything

When and how do we get our financial aid packages?

Accepted as a junior CAS transfer!

Wharton accepts about 20 sophomore transfers and about 2 junior transfers each year. The acceptance rate isn’t known (since they don’t distinguish the the 2000 applicants) but I’d say probably <3% as Wharton would probably be the most popular program people want to apply to.

Does anyone know what Wharton’s policy is on accepting transfer of credits (such as a minimum grade earned in the class for the credit to transfer, etc.)?

if you don’t get in as a freshman transfer… is it easier to get in as a sophomore transfer…? Do they look at SAT’s and HS transcript less heavily?

From what I’ve read, it seems like for a sophomore transfer they still weigh HS pretty heavily, because they’ve only seen a semester of college work. It’s when you’re a junior transfer that your college transcript and stuff is way more important.

Also, to those wondering about stats, I posted mine in the Transfer Decisions thread on the Transfer page. Congrats guys!
