As with freshman admissions, Penn’s transfer admissions process is need-blind for applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of the US, Canada, and Mexico. See pages 14-15 of this pamphlet:

I did not submit midterm grades and I was also not sent an email asking me to do so. I did, however, submit my final grades (straight A’s! with an A+! woohoo!) today at 6:00pm. Do you guys think they will make it into my application?

Probably not. Pretty much all of the decisions by now have been made and they are just getting ready to release and tweaking a couple of last minute things. Did you send your final grades electronically or by mail?

Ugh, so I totally missed that. They emailed me asking for my mid-term grades, but by then I had already finished my finals, and I felt that asking my teachers for mid-term grades would be something I wouldn’t be able to do (for a variety of reasons). So I explained to the admissions officer who emailed me, and she said she filed that explanation.

I guess we’ll see how much of an indicator mid-term grades are.

same here…it’s a guy named John send me that email…and I still cannot give him both of my midterm report or final report…so he told me that my decision would be delayed because of this…■■■…

In last years thread there were people who were accepted without the midterm report and without a midterm report request. I don’t think it means something drastic if you weren’t asked for it.

I think the logic is wrong here. The fact that some people were accepted without submitting midterm grades exactly suggests that these grades are not that important in some cases. If it is a sure acceptance or reception, why would they bother spending the resources to request it from us? That said, if they ask someone to send it in, it is very likely that they are interested and want to confirm something.

I don’t think it is indicative of anything one way or the other. Sometimes, in order to review an entire application in the context of that student’s academic career, certain materials may be requested that were perhaps unnecessary for others’ considerations. They could have also requested the mid-term report to substantiate a rejection or a wait-list.

me? no i didnt get… but im not going anyway… im going to cornell as of now unless i get into penn or columbia… im still waiting on stanford and a few others but thats not realistic… but what is these days anyway…
