Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

@anothershot11
I’m at BU too! Are u a freshmen?

Hmmm so initially the traditional, beautiful campus and the fact that it’s not in a crazy busy city is what got me attracted to Cornell (among other reasons)
But so many people are telling me that I’ll run out of things to do;
My other friend called it its own island-_-
I don’t want to get lonely and bored << my biggest fear haha but I’m pretty outgoing!
So I mean… My house is in a big city (Seoul) so I am however used to getting everything at my convenience. And the only other thing is that it’s hard to travel in and out of Ithaca:P (not a big fan of bus rides)
I’m still waiting on financial aid… But any thoughts??:/

Any ILRers who are still wating got their decisions or can access to the housing portal yet?

Yeahhh guys don’t get discouraged until your decisions come out…
I hate to get disappointed if I have high expectations but it’s not making the wait any easier!
Besides you won’t know for sure until you get the admission letter/email/phone call
Speculating doesn’t really helppp.
But I do think that you should be excited if housing works!:)

Wow so many of us BUers! Hah. @haeji I’m a sophomore here. Also, I wouldn’t be worried about not having things to do up there. I think it’s a perfect balance - there tons of clubs and activities and Ithacas a nice town with movie theatres, little shops, even juice bars and a farmers market hah. And if you ever feel like being on your own you can find great places to hang out or study on campus where you can be alone. I grew up in big cities as well which is why I think Cornell is a great option. There’s plenty to do and sooo many events but it’s not like NYC or Seoul where you have a hard time getting away from the madness when you feel overwhelmed.

I’m a freshman at BU, but I have sophomore standing. Cornell is definitely my first choice, but as a CAS applicant unable to log into housing, my hopes aren’t too high. I just want the process to be over and have a decision in hand. Here’s to hoping for next week!

I feel the exact same way @AnotherShot11- just hoping the next week estimate for CAS is an accurate one. I just want to know one way or the other.

To be honest I’d have to say Penn is my first choice, but Cornell is second only by a tiny, tiny bit. Still very anxious for their decision. Anyone else apply to Penn here??

I wish I had applied to Penn; looking at the school now, I really think it would have been a good fit, but, alas, I did not.

Good luck!

Alyssa, i did!

Come on guys! Why are you giving up already? We are still so early in the game and not being able to log into housing is NOT a sure sign of rejection. However, I do think that being able to log in to housing is a sure sign of acceptance, if that makes sense.

i want to point out that last year for ILR, the same number of people who posted that they got in the first wk is the same number that got in the 2nd week. considering that they didn’t call the 2nd wk this year and will be doing all letter mail for rest, it probably means a lot of people are getting in via mail. just an idea.

I’ve given up just based on the fact that I don’t think I’m getting in. All signs point to rejection for me and I’d rather just accept the fact that I didn’t get accepted than keep my hopes up and just be disappointed anyways.

ACCEPTED INTO CORNELL CAS!!!
I can’t believe it…!!!

Congratulations! What major did you apply to? And how’d you find out?

@alyssa921714 I applied to Penn, for linguistics. lol

@james11223 Congratulations, did you just get a letter?

Congrats James! What state are you from and were you able to log into housing?

I logged into housing like 2 days ago and today I just got the letter. And thank you !! :)

Good luck to everyone still waiting, I hope you all get in! And my major is Chemistry and Chemical Biology at CAS.

Hey James could you post stats?

Has anyone that has been accepted heard from financial aid?

^ I was wondering this too. On the tracker it says my financial aid application is incomplete even though I’m sure that it is… o3o

Congrats James! That’s great!
