Official Fall 2014 Decisions Thread

so if it doesn’t update, will it update automatically at midnight?

guess im gonna be on my laptop for two more hours :P

@AbootCanada could be…

@breezing same! AYOO! #yolo

@AbootCanada I think it all depends on your major. Even I’m an international student. (India) my intended major was Business Administration(Finance) but I’ve been placed in the College of Arts and Sciences according to my unofficial transcript. I think it’s impossible to be directly admitted to the Foster biz school so yeah, I think it’s the course that matters.

well i guess im gonna hang out here LOL

just wondering, what other schools has anyone here heard back from? (:

Anyone open towards discussing their college options?

Foster takes direct admits.

The way direct admit works for most department is:

 1. UW general admissions accepts you
 2. UW general admissions sends accepted applicants to the respective departments for direct admit consideration
 3. Departments make direct admit decisions

Note that nowadays, a lot of departments don’t submit paperwork to get your major changed until you accept UW and the major admissions offer. So unless you applied to an open major (no prereqs), you won’t see a major show up on your unofficial transcript before the department notifies you of direct admit acceptance.

I was accepted to Western Washington, Washington State, UW Bothell, Boise State, Univ of Utah, and now awaiting UW Seattle and Florida State…UW Seattle is my top choice though!

I have been accepted to both Western Washington University, and WSU as well. I would love to go to UW, but money and well being accepted will be my only obstacles stopping me.

@speedsolver so assuming in in(due to the unofficial transcript thing) there’s still a chance i might be directly admitted to foster? Or do you think i’ll have to take another major and then try my luck after a year

@Rusty34: Yes, there’s definitely a chance you can be directly admitted to Foster. =) Usually those decisions come out closer to early April.

I’m currently accepted by Univ of Illinois at Chicago, Umass Lowell (10,000$ scholarship), Bryant University(14,000$scholarship), and UC Davis . I’m waiting for BentleyU, UC Sand Diego, Dickinson College

@NinRash & @Paolaa what made you guys apply to Western Washington U? I was thinking about applying, but I knew very little about the university

Alright! @speedsolver that’s insane. So it’s not like I’ll HAVE to accept the admission offer and be uncertain about foster. I’m guessing that implies that it’ll be clear whether I’m going to college of arts and sciences or foster well before the reply back date so I can weigh my options

@Rusty34 I’m waiting for UC San Diego too!

@Rusty34: That’s right! It also gives you time to consider other options or major tracks. You can also look into how to get into Foster while you’re at UW. Remember that direct admit is only a small subset of the entire graduating class. Most of my friends got into Foster after a year or two at UW.

@breezing UC SD is gonna be intense man! I always knew thatbif I get into uw and UC sd then I’d be so confused. We’ll just have to see. Guess we’ll discuss the pros and cons together if we get accepted :stuck_out_tongue:

@speedsolver is it fairly easy to get into foster even after a year? Cuz that’s the main aim of going to uw so I can attend foster…

@Rusty34 same! UCLA, UCSD, and UW are my top schools. and since I havent heard back from either of them yet, I’m so nervous haha!

Do you know which one you’re leaning toward more? (:

@breezing it’s a lot closer to Seattle than WSU, and less of a “party” atmosphere (ie WSU)
