Thought I would get a thread rolling on this now, since the application went live today for folks that want to transfer in Autumn 2014. I applied to both UW Seattle and UW Bothell, although there is a strong chance that I would prefer Bothell. Since I was not applying to any other schools in state or out of state, I went ahead and threw in my Seattle app this evening.

How long do Bothell and Seattle normally take to notify folks? Eons I assume? :)

Yes, a really long time. For Seattle anyway. My daughter applied to transfer (for Fall 2011) and did not hear until July. By then she had changed her mind, and didn’t transfer after all.

Bothell may be quicker.

Yeah from reading past threads it seems you either hear back in March or in June/July. No biggie, since I have a quarter left to complete at BC to finalize my AA, however; it would be nice if the college were to give some kind of indication earlier.

I keep hearing that UW takes 'till June/July to send out acceptance/rejection letters. I’m trying to decide between UW and WWU but I’m worried about deciding on UW and waiting till June just to find out that I was rejected. If I wait that long won’t it ruin my chances of getting a dorm at another college (if they even wait that long for a confirmation)?

Same here, izzymyster. But I don’t think I’ll mind settling for off-campus residence at another college if I do get rejected by UW in the end. If it’s any consolation, some people hear back by May.

I’m in the same boat izzymyster, in terms of being caught between UW and WWU. I’m not confident enough in UW to not plan for WWU though. I’m basically going to move forward with all the steps at WWU unless a miracle occurs and UW accepts me. I’ll be living off campus either way so unfortunately I can’t give any input on the on campus housing situation.

Also I know this is SUPER early probably to be asking this, but after reading the fall 2013 transfer thread I really want to know how one is able to see the sacred unofficial transcript everyone talks about. Do you have to already be going to one of the other UW schools or is it like WSU where they send you some type of login?

I was wondering about that too. I’m not sure, but from reading a bunch of old threads I think we will get an email on how to access the tracker later on.

So after submitting the application, what happens next? Do we get confirmation that they received transcripts?

Izzymyster - You will only receive confirmation that they got your app. Although maybe not right away. I didn’t receive any email until a few days after. As for transcripts, I believe that’s a no. I sent them an email asking if there was a way to check my application status to see if my high school transcripts had made it. They told me that because of the high volume they receive, they couldn’t. I wish they had something set up like WWU that let’s you check that sort of thing. However, they do say they’ll let you know if they need additional information, so maybe if transcripts were missing they would notify you.

Yes, they do notify you if your transcripts are missing. When I applied for Winter, my high school transcripts got lost and they emailed me asking for them. It wasn’t a problem, I just sent them again.

I applied on Feb 10th from an jn state community college to UW as well as the foster school of business with Econ as my second choice major I have a 3.65 gpa with a 4.0 in my last 45 credits as well as honors macro micro and all business pre reqs satisfied I have 105 college credits and thought I wrote an extremely strong essay I spent many hours on it

For everyone who is wondering about the process, this is what happened to me last year:

1)Finished my online application and got a confirmation that it was received a few days later.

2) They didn’t receive a couple of my transcripts (I’m 100% sure the schools sent them so I think the problem was on the receiving end). I had them resent and after my application was officially complete, I was sent an e-mail to set up a UW account - this was the beginning of March. This is now my permanent UW account.

3) At the end of June, my unofficial transcript loaded (you can check by logging into your UW account) so I knew I had been accepted. Later that same evening, I got several e-mails from the financial aid office. 2-3 days later, the official acceptance letter arrived.

Good luck everyone! The waiting is painful. I wish the UW was quicker. You’ll survive, though! The transfer threads here at CC were a good support system.

When will they send us an email to set up our UW account?
I know its only March and we typically get them June/July but I am SO ANXIOUS. Especially since many of the Freshman will be getting their letters this month. I’m just nervous because I also don’t want to turn down an opportunity to go to another school because I was waiting for my letter from UW (since they come in so late).

I have a 3.52 and will be graduating with my DTA this June. I’m crossing my fingers!

Hey guys just thought I would join the thread. @denisedeladela I got my email to set up my UW account today so I assume everyone will be getting them soon.

I have a 3.6 and am graduating with my DTA in June and I am so anxious to hear back form UW!

Hello! I am curious if anybody who is applying to transfer to UW Bothell has heard a decision yet. I only applied to UW Bothell and I gather that they are much quicker to make a decision than Seattle is. I applied the first week of January and I still haven’t heard and my unofficial transcript doesn’t load either. If you’ve been accepted already, please let me know! And also include what your major is. Good luck to everyone!

@ellerrad9 When did all of your transcripts arrive at UW Bothell? I spoke with UW Bothell and was told we should know 4-6 weeks after they have received the transcripts.

I applied beginning of February, transcripts arrived end of February. Haven’t heard yet…

@seasportsdude. My file was completed on Feb 6th. I guess I should be hearing back fairly soon! What major are you applying for?

Some unofficial transcripts are out! Check the portal!

@charlesfries Really? For transfers? That’s extremely unusual.
