Official Fall 2014 Decisions Thread

Accepted!
I’m deciding between UW, Gonzaga and U of Portland currently.
Interested in biochemistry. Immigrated to the US about 6 years ago, which became a quite inspiring essay. 2 years of Chinese and 4 years of Spanish credit. Running Start student (began the calculus series and took more advanced courses so don’t discourage everyone from doing RS! ) . 3.65 GPA. 1830 SAT ( 630 Reading, 620 Math, and 580 Writing). Truth be told, didn’t spend more than 2 hours studying for the SAT. Washington resident. Weekend job and over 750 hours of community service ( Christian camp, hospital volunteer, club events that included Key Club, Environmental Club, Model UN, and VP of Latinos Embracing Diversity Club) . Feel free to email me at villaclaudia12@yahoo.com if you have any more questions!

So, the big white envelope arrived today, and all I could see were the admission stuff. The paraphernalia also referred to a “Welcome” Package, but I’m not sure if there will be another envelope coming, or if that was it.

One of the documents said the major is “Pre-Engineering”, but my son really wanted CE. Does this mean that he can give up on DA now? Or could there be another letter and/or email on the way?

Should I assume that he’s not been DA’d, or should we wait some more?

Thanks.

Izinger - From what I have read here on CC, if his major says “Pre” then he is not a direct admit. But who knows, your mail is definitely running later than ours. We are still waiting for the Honors College decision.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. It looks like we’re sunk! :((

Still, my son said he may chance his arm and go to UDub nevertheless. Maybe we can catch up with everyone here (especially with you and speedsolver) if he does end up going.

If not, congrats to everyone who are going to attend, and all the best to your daughter.

Thanks.

has anyone found out about their financial aid, specifically merit scholarships? I’m suprised I got measly loans from FAFSA, and no grants/scholarships…
