Official fall 2014 transfer thread

Anyone know if emailing a scanned Midterm Report file is acceptable or do I need to mail a physical copy?

@william95 I don’t know about scanning, but they do have a number for faxing midterm reports

@william95 I took a screen shot of my midterm grades and sent it directly to an admissions Dean. They said that was ok (midterm report still not checked off but has been under review since I sent it) but I would just double check with the person you email.

Initially I wanted to transfer to CAS but because of the low transfer rate I decided to pick a different route. I’m not really sure why it’s like that seeing as CAS is the biggest school at Cornell but I’m guessing it has something to do with the pre-reqs. For example, I know CAS students have to complete a year of language in order to graduate so it must be difficult for transfers to complete stuff like that on time (assuming they are accepted).

@william95 I scanned my midterm report and email it to them. A few days later, they received my document and updated in my Cornell portal

@holdenc Yeah I sent it to admissions and just said to let me know if I needed to mail it

@MYOMOO Awesome, looks like my application is complete then!

@william95 I wish we can all get in… Are you applying as a Junior Transfer?

@MYOMOO Sophomore

Happy decision month!
Let’s hope it’s a good one for all of us. To keep you all distracted momentarily from your anxiety: <a href=“Wrecking Ball (Chatroulette Version) - YouTube”>Wrecking Ball (Chatroulette Version) - YouTube;

Good luck guys…

BTW It is Cornell’s spring break. They will resume classes on the 9th. That most likely means the admissions people are also on break until then. So let the nerves relax knowing you will not hear anything until then.

has anyone’s application not been sent for review still?

@holdenc thanks for the heads up!

@holdenc admission officers work through the break. It’s only for the students, which is good news for us!! :)

@ianbernas damn. I was enjoying the peace of mind knowing I would not hear anything back from them.

I still don’t think we’ll hear back before next week

I just got a call from a woman named Laurie from ILR to set up a phone interview. Anyone else get this/heard of this in the past?

ILR students, I have intel from my counselor that over 1,100 people have applied to transfer to ILR for 150 spots. Much larger number than previous years.

<a href=“Cornell ILR Phone Interview - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1478944-cornell-ilr-phone-interview.html</a></p>

@holdenc technically the phone interview is required for ILR applicants but due to the ratio of applicants to interviewers, sometimes applicants do not receive an interview invitation. Whether it is a good sign or not is uncertain but it definitely can’t hurt! Good luck with it!

Does anyone know by any chance how many prospective transfers applied to CAS this year?
