Official fall 2014 transfer thread

@UofU2014Cornell, yes that is what I was talking about. I am trying to figure out if only few of the CAS applicants have no access to it, or if pretty much all of us don’t. I am getting a feeling that we will have to wait a bit longer than most other schools (except for maybe engineering).

CAS applicant here, finally able to get the message that my decision will be available tomorrow at 10 AM. Can’t log into housing, though  Is anyone expecting these decisions to be mostly acceptances/rejections or a mixture of the two?

@aerivus Im a CAS applicant(math major) and it says mine will be available tmrw/

I get about 3 e-mails back with different PINs and password recovery links, then I can’t login with any of the PINs after setting my password, did you guys only get 1?

Edit: Nevermind, I was finally able to see the same message. Tomorrow at 10 am, crossing my fingers! I’m a CAS applicant for Computer Science by the way.

@aerivus‌ Yes… I guess so either. ///

Does anyone in Economics major can access to the magical link?

@KingofSweden, who knows. I will be observing this thread avidly tomorrow as the decisions tomorrow will help figure out if getting a decision late is a good thing or a bad thing.
@marianna0725, I see. So, it’s not like most of all CAS applicants will not get a decision tomorrow. I guess my decision is just taking some time (I did update last of my two mid-term grades pretty late in early April).
@UofU2014Cornell, I am an econ applicant. Nobody, yet that I know of.

Good luck you guys though.

@aerivus I guess the decisions that have been made so far are being released tomorrow. Why would Cornell prolong the release of acceptances?

@KingofSweden‌ in my knowledge, the admission decision has been release since mid of April(8th probably) on a rolling basis, which means that the admission office has been starting reviewing since then.

I really wish we’d get our decisions back soon. Cornell is my first choice, so I’ve been waiting as long as possible to hear something from them. But I’ve been accepted to all of the other schools I applied to, and the deadline to respond to each of them is May 1st. I know a few others in this thread have mentioned they’re in the same position (and I feel really bad for applicants who aren’t expecting decisions until May or June!)…I really hope we hear something tomorrow!

@KingofSweden, I actually just called the office to ask about this. They told me (after searching through my CAID and official name), that my decision hasn’t been made by the CAS and that is why I don’t have my PIN yet.
So, yes, you are right.

:-SS X_X :!!

@CHEhopeful‌ I am in the same position as well. I was accepted to 3 SUNY schools and was offered a full scholarship for NYU yet Cornell is my first choice. May 1st is the deadline for committment and after that, if I change my mind of going to Cornell if accepted, I’ll the money, which is unfair. I am really expecting decision in June, as the admission officer told me.

@engineeringboy That’s SO unfair. I really hope you hear from them sooner. If you can, try e-mailing or calling some of your other schools and ask for a commitment deadline extension. When I went to visit SUNY Geneseo they said they’d offer one if necessary; maybe other schools would too. Worth a shot. I know that the engineering school at Cornell expects you to send transcripts for every class or something - have you done all that yet? Good luck!!

@engineeringboy Ask Cornell for an expedited decision, just tell them about your situation. They’ll do their best to get back to you before that date.

@william95 @engineeringboy Having deadlines before Cornell’s isn’t grounds for an expedited decision, unfortunately. I called and asked about it. They say you really need to have special circumstances and it’s reviewed on a case by case basis by people who sound like they don’t give a crap about anyone’s situation. Sad truth :(

@engineeringboy @ansci412 wow that’s unfortunate, you’d think they would be more understanding. Well maybe decisions will come out sooner than in the past since it seems like they might be going for one big wave instead of staggered ones.

Any ILR hopefuls able to access the applyyourself decision date page? I cannot.

@beaccepted2014‌ I cannot either. I know someone who can. Whether tomorrow is all acceptances or a mass slaughter, we do know that it will be a very big moment that will finally provide some clarity. Everyone please post their decisions good or bad.

@ansci412 So true. Cornell doesn’t seem to really care about an individual’s special circumstances. I filed for independent status consideration for financial aid, because I left home at a young age due to domestic violence, and have been supporting myself for more than 5 years. I called Cornell to explain that because of my situation, it would be extremely difficult–if not impossible–to secure any/all of the financial documents and signatures they wanted from my parents. Their response was basically, “Sorry, that sucks…but we still won’t consider your application until we get all of that stuff.” I somehow managed to get all of the documents/signatures they wanted from my parents before the end of March, but it was terrible, and there’s still a huge chance that Cornell will reject me. Still hoping
