@cali2387 – Northwestern has a lot of programs that are stronger than Cornell (economics for example), and is a higher ranked university overall (if you do care about rankings) by all ranking sites including US News, Times Higher Ed, QS World Rankings, Forbes, etc.

it seems like a very sudden change of heart is all.

@CORNELLorDIE is the biggest ■■■■■. Not even 3 days ago he was freaking out and saying he would kill himself if he did not get into Cornell. Suicide and selfharm is NOT something to joke about, ever. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I agree that Northwestern has a good Economics program, I myself applied there this year. But you don’t attend an Ivy League for the major necessarily; you attend an Ivy League for all the connections and an intellectually stimulating learning environment. Example: My interviewer for Yale last year majored in English and worked on Wall Street. I really do believe that your major doesn’t influence your career options much if you attend an Ivy League school

^ True.

Also, no email for me yet. Still getting the “unable to find pin” when I try to reset it. Nothing on the transeval website either.

@CornellorDie Cornell will eventually give your spot to someone else. I wonder if you can reject their offer so that your spot can be given to someone else sooner.

@CORNELLorDIE You’re a doosh(CC wont let me spell it the other way). You should learn something about morales. They are really important in life and you seem to lack them altogether. A lot of kids are very upset and you are not helping by boasting. Scumbag.

I always liked Cornell. But not more than NU. Both are great schools, but one problem with Cornell is that it accepts too many transfers from community college or other out state schools, which hurt its reputation. Northwestern, on the other hand, does not have flaw neither in its admission rate nor in academics. Its just flawless.

On a more positive note, congratulations to all that were accepted. To those rejected, keep your heads up, you are all qualified applicants and will go great places in life wherever you end up next year. Best of luck to those still waiting on responses!

@cornellordie is stuck in 2010 and is still a super kwl hip n edgy ■■■■■
Just ignore whatever he says guys

@CORNELLorDIE Get off of this thread. You are spewing complete nonsense at this point. I do not respect anyone who makes of light of suicide or selfharm. I am glad you will be going to Northwestern and not Cornell, I have no desire to ever come across your path.

Hahahahah @CORNELLorDIE that just proves how much you don’t know about Cornell. Yes there reputation is so tarnished because of transfers…that’s why they are ranked 16th in the nation

I don’t think Cornellordie even got into Cornell … But I’m hrt and haven’t heard anything from the school yet .

So sorry everyone who got rejected…
I am super disappointed by what CornellorDue says.
He has been talking to anybody like he desperated wanted to go to Cornell

Congrate to everyone who got accepted…

Life is all way different and we r still alive to realize our own goals.
I know everyone in this forum is really brilliant and smart…

Nothing from ILR yet

@cali2387 Actually, Cornell is not necessarily an “IVY LEAGUE” institution. Its acceptance rate for freshman are twice as easy as other ivyleague schools.

CornellOrDie … If your heart is set, would it be possible for you to decline the ILR offer as soon as possible? Myself, and other ILR applicants, would appreciate the possible opportunity created by an early decline.

Hey everyone congrats to every one that got in and I’m very sorry to hear from people who didn’t get in. I’m new to this thread and was wondering how do you check your admissions decision??? Is there a link…

hello you guys I also just received my notification. but I dont know why when i try to click in, the page shows unable to find the page. Anyone knows why??

@Ianbernas I never said Cornell is a bad school. But it is undeniable that all those backdoors have seriously tarnished its reputation.
