General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc:
Georgetown’s been one of my top choices since the beginning of my college search process. I’m not too torn up about it though because I probably would have ended up with little to no financial aid and not gone. I thought I had a good shot with my straight A mid-year report, but everything happens for a reason. With some schools its like rolling the dice to know if you got in or not. I’ll be attending American University in an accelerated 4-year master’s program and I know I’ll be happy there. I wish the best of luck to all those who are accepted and choose to attend, and who knows? Maybe I’ll see you in D.C.

waitlisted at the walsh sfs

does anyone know the chances of being let in off of waitlist?

bemyescape93x…

Last year, I was waitlisted. I never got in from the waitlist, but the admissions counselor I got in touch with stated that 150 students were accepted off the waitlist in the class of 2013. I don’t know how many of those 150 were accepted to SFS from the waitlist though.

Why you think you were rejected: Who knows. Georgetown likely (and correctly) inferred that there were other schools I was more interested. Looking through this thread, most of the accepted applicants are clearly more qualified than I am as well.

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc: Congrats to everyone who got in! I guess I should admit I’m somewhat offended for being rejected outright, but I suppose that’s life and in the grand scheme of things fair.

[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I showed them a LOT of interest, including a summer program. Plus, my interview went amazingly well. Also, my essay was pretty risky for a Jesuit school - I talked about being atheist. Guess my risk paid off!
