Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Why I was waitlisted is easy with the super selective schools - it’s a crapshoot. They have way more qualified candidates than spots. I was at an info meeting at which Georgetown was a participant. The Georgetown guy commented athta they could admit a group of 2,000 kids on the right or a completely different 2,000 kids on the lsft and the class would be just as strong. I’m in at Wash U, Vandy, USC, NYU and Michigan but so far denied at ND and Virginia and waitlisted at Georgetown. As I look at more and more of these threads it’s hard to see why many rejected didn’t get in and why some who got in weren’t rejected. I had both Wash U and Vandy higher on my list than Georgetown so I am not crushed other than perhaps the slight ding to my ego for not being accepted.

I knew when I felt the envelope that it was too thick to be a rejection, and the feeling of relief that came over me was intense! While I’m disappointed that I wasn’t admitted outright, I have to say that I am sincerely glad I still have a chance at attending Georgetown; besides, this is the fourth (!) place I was waitlisted at (after WUSTL, GW, and Middlebury), so I’m used to it ;). I will definitely be trying my hardest to get off that waitlist! Congratulations to all those who were accepted, good luck to all my fellow waitlisters out there, and to those who were rejected - please have faith that you’ll end somewhere you were meant to be.
