I really appreciate hearing that! I wish transfer decisions were more structured like freshman decisions were. A specific release date would be so much better

@Too fast

Call the gtown admin office and tell them that you need to request an early read on your gtown application because you have a deposit due for another school. Ask for the contact info for the person you should contact. You will need to send a pic or something of proof that an enrollment deposit is due along with the email. It’s easier than I expected haha

You may want to add something in about not wanting to put deposits down at multiple schools because it’s a lot of money. Gtown admission office seemed to respond well to this reasoning.

I sent in the email at 1PM, but I haven’t received a response yet. Admissions Office should have closed a while ago, so hopefully I can get a response early tomorrow morning.

i also sent in a “early read” request since my deposit deadline was may 1. haven’t heard anything but hopefully that will speed things up a bit.

I have a feeling that we will get something tomorrow… the first friday of May last year was when there were a relatively large number of people from CC who heard from GT.

Tomorrow hopefully. This year is like one week behind the last year… My guess is this year is super competitive.

@AFE111

Let’s just say that the admissions are super lazy haha xD

@AFE111

idk if it’s super competitive, their website says that they’re STILL accepting applications, so I think either the pool wasn’t good enough or it was too small so they want to boost their numbers to reject the new applicants to seem more competitive

@trickery

STILL accepting applications?! Really?

@yagiboonjota

look at their website…

that’s what I’m saying, I don’t think they’re competitive this year and maybe that’s why they haven’t released anything idk

Have they ever done this in past years?

I’d honestly rather wait if it means they need more applicants to bring down the acceptance rateif that means I’d have a better chance.

@IJustWantIn

idk but I also looked at other schools randomly and they aren’t accepting any more transfers so idk

but ya can someone tell us if they’ve done this before

@trickery, I don’t know man. It appears to be all of the cc transfers are pretty competitive. btw, where does it say they are still accepting applications?

@ jay327 cc=community college?

[Transfer Application - Office of Undergraduate Admissions](Transfer Application | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | Georgetown University)

read the paragraph

@trickery
Never checked back the website after applying. But you are probably right.
If your analysis is true, just curious,what’s the possible reasons that they don’t have many applicants this year? I tried but really couldn’t think of any…
Also, As a MSB applicant, I saw a lot of us are also potential MSB transfers…

@AFE111

who knows but ya it seems like a lot of people are applying to MSB just based off this site. but who knows, we shouldn’t really worry or try to analyze what they’re doing. We should just relax and wait to see what happens

Has anyone thought maybe the admissions committee has just fallen behind a little bit when compared to last year? I’m sure decisions will start rolling out next week or the week after at the latest.

I first started looking at Georgetown several years ago while I was still in the military. Their website has always been the same. It never changes. At least in the last few years.

I just got e-mail saying my application is complete and it forwarded to admission office for reviewing.

Finally OHHH!!!

Yikes…has everyone received an email by now saying their application is complete? Because I haven’t…! And I submitted mine before the deadline.

@ pzzia777

When did you submit your application? It seems like admissions is going slow this year!

I dont have one either,only the application verification…
