well… good luck to everyone else… georgetown was my first choice… pretty bummed i didn’t get it… but life goes on i guess… but don’t let my sour mood ruin yours if you guys got accepted! congrats and you guys should really go… its a GREAT school!! :)

oh and anthem…don’t worry… if georgetown doesn’t want you then they’re MISSING OUT!! You did a FANTASTIC job during your high school years! I bet even Harvard would want you!! :)

So a little background story on this:
I applied EA and got deferred yet on that day (Dec 15), I also got accepted into the Ross School of Business at UMich which I did want more than McDonough So I weighed my options and I was like, ehh, I’m not going to send my SAT II’s or my mid-year to Georgetown. So I expected them either to flat out reject me or call me for my missing required info. Neither of that happened. Haha. Any insight from you guys? I’m actually shocked beyond belief.

Decision: Waitlisted–McDonough B-School

[] Weaknesses: Um, that I didn’t send in any of my stuff? Haha
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: …I have no idea.[/li][/ul]General Comments: I’m floored right now. I’m amazed, excited, a little surprised that Georgetown either didn’t care or oversaw it but regardless, pleasantly surprised in the long run.

And congratulations to the class of 2014!

ACCEPTED!

I can’t believe it. I was deferred EA, but when I contacted my interviewer with the news, she offered to write me another rec. I think it helped!

I’ll post stats as soon as I can stop bouncing around and smiling deliriously.

I got the letter in mail today, saying that there were 18,000 applicants and that I was waitlisted. It also included a table of acceptance rates off the Waiting List from the past decade. Does anyone know how many people are usually kept on the Waiting List? Do I have any chance of getting in off the List with a 4.25GPA, 34 ACT, serious extracurriculars, good recs, & the works? Now I’m more nervous for the Ivies.

ACCEPTED!!! Does anyone know when we get FA decisions/ a big welcome packet in the mail? Or is it just the small envelope?

Decision: Rejected - Georgetown College

Objective:

[ul]SAT I (breakdown): 680 CR / 650 M / 690 W / Total: 2020

[]AP (place score in parenthesis): U.S. History (3)
[]IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
[]Senior Year Course Load: Pretty rigorous, it’s about half APs and then half not even honors, with the exception of one honors class.
[]Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): National Achievement Scholarship: Outstanding Participant[/ul]
Subjective:

[ul]Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Newspaper (editor-in-chief); tech crew (head of props); mock trial (vice-president); youth group (peer minister); ITS (“motivator/mascot” - it’s pretty much a BS position honestly); National Honor Society

[]Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My essays were a piece of crap, my scores and numbers were too low, and maybe they could somehow tell I wasn’t all that invested in Georgetown.[/ul]

General Comments: I’m really not that phased by this…actually, in a weird way, I’m somewhat glad I just got flat-out rejected, because I’m really not that interested in here, and I guess I wouldn’t want to I “steal” someone else’s spot. So congrats to those accepted and good luck to those waitlisted! =]
