Official Georgia Tech 2013-2014 EA Discussion Thread

That’s why they have several adcoms reading. They will pay close attention to your course selection and how well you did (according to a GA Tech adcom that visited my school). Yes, they will look at weighted GPA.

Yeah and that’s also the only way to look for upward trends.

I hope i get this school would be perfect minus the fact its in Georgia only 1 day left boys

[Rigor of Curriculum and GPA | Admission](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission)

“During the application process, we will evaluate the weighted GPA listed on your high school transcript. Utilizing this method enables us to look at your grades and class selection within the context of your own high school”

GT also emphasizes heavily on the rigor of the courses.
“During the evaluation process, considerable emphasis is placed on the curriculum taken during high school, keeping in mind what was available at each school. Successful applicants are those who take advantage of the most rigorous curriculum available to them in whatever form that may take – Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, magnet classes, dual enrollment, etc. In addition to considering the courses taken, we are also looking for demonstrated success in those courses”

I’m still confused about whether that means they will look at only weighted GPA or both weighted and unweighted.

yes we can

Should someone make a results thread?

Here’s a countdown in case anyone’s interested: [Countdown to Jan 4, 2014 12:00 Noon in Atlanta](<a href=“Time since Jan 4, 2014 12:00 noon started in Atlanta”>Time since Jan 4, 2014 12:00 noon started in Atlanta)

I wish they had released some pre decision statistics, like they did last year. That way we would have known what we are up against.

21 hrs left… scared!!!

Last year a bunch of kids figured it out the night before because when they logged into buzzport extra tabs showed up for those that got admitted. They probably have fixed that for this year though. Good luck to all of you!

I’ve been in GT’s distance calculus program so I’ve been using buzzport for a while. It seems that I have extra tabs today, so they didn’t fix that glitch!

@plurmorant lol you are making me nervous. What extra tabs do you see today and did not see yesterday? I haven’t been checking buzzport regularly.

I second coder90

there is a new personal announcement tab above the applicant information tab. is it just me??? What is going on???

Nah I think I’ve had that for a while. The one that offers scholarship stuff right?

Lol nope, I have the personal announcement thing too. My tabs are dual enroll (since i do GT distance calc), home, mail, calendar, t square(Distace calc thing), help, applicant, student, student life, jacketpages.

Did you get any new ones recently that are different from the distance calc things?

dang it. got my hopes up…

higher the expectation, greater the disappointment
