Hi, I am new to this thread, but I thought I would just let you guys know that I was contacted for an interview on April 16th and I had the interview the following morning on April 17th. It was rather intense and it was difficult to gauge if it went well. My interviewer kept his sunglasses on the whole time so I couldn’t see his eyes. I hope it went well. Good luck you you all!

@bakemaster You’re everywhere! It’s always nice to see you. I thought you didn’t apply to Harvard?

@JetLogic Gosh, I keep on reliving my summer there. Leaving Cambridge was the only time I’ve ever felt homesick. It feels like it’s biologically necessary for me to be close to Harvard.

How are you holding up with the UCs, man?

@chasethecarrot Congratulations on USC!!! I’m jealous of you, woman!

OH GOD HE’S EVERYWHERE

Yeah, no, I’m staying in California. I’ve been lurking in this thread mostly out of nostalgia, I guess. You can’t grow up in Somerville and then work in higher ed. without spending a fair bit of time at and around Haavid.

If anyone in this thread does end up attending, here’s my one piece of advice: Make some friends at HBS and take any opportunity you get to eat there. Best lunch breaks ever, especially when it’s Lebanon day at the international buffet table.

hi i have a few questions for anyone who can answer…
- does anyone know when we officially find out about transfer acceptances/rejections? ive heard that accepted students sometimes find out a day or 2 before rejected students - is this just a myth?
- i sent in my midterm report a bit late like mid april - does that mean that they won’t really take it into account?
- do transfer student applicants ever get waitlisted? i know at columbia they do sometimes – does harvard have this same policy?
thanks

Harvard does waitlist people, for about five minutes, until they see if anyone is going to turn down their acceptance, and when/if no one does, then they get rejected.

And I’m not glorifying Harvard, or obsessing, OR writing “flower poetry” or whatever, lol. I was dead serious. I don’t think Harvard exists.

I think it’s this made up thing that we’re all supposed to strive for, so we’re all on our toes constantly, but anyone who applies gets rejected (naturally), because it ISN’T REAL, thereby continuing to keep everyone on their toes with the realization that they’re not quite such hot stuff, after all.

Really. Get on board. We also never went to the moon. ;)

(Okay, but I’m serious about the Harvard thing though…)

Crap. I’d better send back some of my paychecks from '08-09.

But to whom???

^EXACTLY.

Lol, nice touch, bakemaster. I ACTUALLY laughed out loud! :D

…But in keeping with my crazy theories-- you’re an excellent hired prop… I’m sure there are many of you–convincing others that you’ve worked there, or that you’ve gone there, etc. That makes for a much more convincing argument…just like the moon landing videos, and Buzz Aldrin…
Gotta quit using that example, though, as I’m becoming more convinced that we have traveled to the moon- although maybe not when we initially said we did…

(Also, please don’t cyber-kick me…I mean well…even if I’m wrong, don’t we need more people to challenge our concepts of what’s real in the world?)

;)

… Are you real?

Look around you. Look around you. Just look around you.

Have you worked out what we’re looking for?

Correct! The answer is: HARVARDS

Jeez … I walk in here and it’s a big LSD trip.

so only 2 kids on here got interviews… but out of 2000 kids we cant expect all 12 on here can we… hopefully theyl contact more of us… this is torture…

They start committee meetings tomorrow… Joy.

how do you know that??

(But seriously,

Hi all, I am new here. I am really curious about harvard transfer.

I am going to study in a university that doesn’t have a good rank or simply no rank in USA universities. Thus, I wonder if Harvard only takes students from top universities which are ranked between 1- 50 such as Vanderbuilt, Grinnell etc or not? So, is there any chance for those who are studying in a university like me?

Harvard Admissions Office said decisions don’t go out until mid June…but everyone on this blog said mid to late may…which is it??

Most likely it’s around May 12th or so…but waistlisted applicants find out June. However, only 12-20 get in =/

@Wonderl: I’ve heard about students being accepted from community colleges so it’s not impossible by any means. The college I currently attend is only 5 years old so it hardly holds any ranking at all. It’s definitely a small worry that I have, but I wouldn’t let it eat you up. ;)

on a lighter note… this is how I’ll probably react if I’m accepted

So how early did everyone start preparing their applications and packages? I started in October.

Uh-oh. I can’t login to my Applicant Status page. Eeeeek :(
