That is incorrect.

i second that.

I feel like most people on these boards are either very overcritical of themselves or nauseatingly overconfident.

vwkng it sounds like you've got a great app. good luck

If getting a 2350 and 2380 on SAT/SATII with a 4.0 GPA is NOT considered academically strong, I don't know what is.

Nope, no Harvard for you.

You need a perfect SAT, period.

wow incredible stats. How did you get an internship/job at investment bank at age 17?

which school in vancouver did you go to?
a 4.0 from a canadian school is impressive considering there isnt any grade inflation.

Good luck to all. Posted my Transfer Application today. NOT holding my breath. Well, maybe a little.

My stats:

Currently: Freshmen
SAT I: 2360
GPA: 4.0
Major: Science
Gender: Female

i think you really need to include which school you are transferring from. big diff between a 4.0 from a CC vs Ivy League or another top 10 school.

She is transferring from the University of Houston.

Uh, no investment bank accepts official summer analysts below the age of 18for any of the non-commercial and non-support divisions. You would have to be an unofficial assistant- something that can only be done with mad connections. Care to explain?

Looks like we have the next Nelson Mandela here....

And different_steps....how is your EC because there really isn't much you can do academic wise. Write a killer essay, coupled with some stellar EC and you would have a nice shot at Harvard.

Lol you guys simply don't believe that i worked in an investment bank...
I had a friend who's mom happens to know the manager of this branch.. Initially, I was working as an investment consultant TRAINEE.. Meaning i WAS someone's ***** for the entire time.. I took some exams and passed and da-dan! i became a trader in the futures market for my clients ( Chicago Mercantile Exchange)
Guys, I was crying and slamming tables during my interview... My boss told me that i was too young and that i will never fit in.. I offered to work for free for 3 months and if i m late at any point or if she's unsatisfactory with my performance she could just fire me... Fortunately. I m still invited to go back to this company even today...

OK I HAVE TO CLARIFY... I M IN THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO... A here is equivalent to 80% and above and there's NO A+ or A STAR. so on my transcript, it's technically GPA 4.0 but in fact if i go to another college, it will be like gpa of 3.7 or 3.8...

I can assure you that ppl in harvard will NOT LOOK AT SAT scores...
(and if you are like 2100 or below you might as well not apply cause they'll reject you immediately)

Trivia.. EC's are very strong, excellant rec's, one from department chair in my concentration, and hopefully well focused essays. But, I only have two years of high school, and my present university according to nspeds is not very good, so won't hold my breath. I only applied to 2 colleges that I would really like to go to for my major so if not this year, there is always next. Thank you for the encouragement.

different_steps: UH is a great school; however, your competition at Harvard and Rice will probably originate from much better schools. Well, maybe not with Rice, but Rice seems to have (a really dumb and unjustified) problem with Houston applicants.

I really think you are a shoe-in for a top 25 school, but you just aren't applying to enough of them!
