are you from Northern California or North Carolina??? Cause i thought No. Cal. stands for Northern California, but someone changed it to North Carolina?!

Harvard just called me and asked if I was still interested and of course i said YESS but they didn't offer me admission... is that a really bad sign? I was a little nervous on the phone....

ok, I was hoping that was positive but did the other waitlist people get offers on the phone?? I'm from the finger lakes in central new york. I already committed to geneseo but I'm waiting on the yale waitlist too. But heck with yale i'd so rather go to harvard

Molly0252, I do remember reading previous posts from others who were either contacted at home or through the GC at school in reference to being "still interested" in attending Harvard.
Can any of the persons posting the same please post any additional information since your similar contact experience?

Hello this is ___ calling from harvard admissions office is this molly?

Yes, this is she how can i help you?

Well we were just calling to check if you were still interested and to check up on how things are going

(This is where I get really nervous and start saying uhh)

yea things are going great, I just finished my finals and I still have a 4.0. My envirothon team is also going to states.

Ok that sounds great, and are you still interested?

Absolutely

What are your college plans as of now?

I already committed to geneseo and I'm also on the yale waiting list, but obviously if i got off the harvard waiting list my plans would change.

Ok that's good to hear you're still so interested

Is there anything else I can do or send to you?

No that's it

And when should I find out about the final decision?

Sometime in the next few weeks

Ok well thank you very much!

you're welcome.

End. Yea so she was really pleasant and i was very nervous... but that was the whole convo

I could somewhat (only because it wasn't me) feel your excited nervousness.
I think you handled the conversation well and that you should remain hopeful!

Personally, I would have screamed something like...

AM I IN?! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SAY IT IS SO! LOL :-)

Wellnow -- I think that the past few days, when Harvard has contacted people, they did it in the evening (after 5). There's still hope for today!

if harvard's notifying its first round of wait-list accepted people this week, why is MollyO getting a call just asking about her interest? could she possibly be part of the second round already? or maybe the rumor about harvard contacting a significant amount of people today and tomorrow is false?
