<p>I honestly think this is an ongoing process and that we're going to see admittances keep trickling in. There is just way too many states that don't have any admittances yet for it to be near the end. It also seems that most of the app status' aren't working, so don't put any weight into that. My son's codes aren't working in app status or admitted students either.</p>

My S checked yesterday and his app status is also inoperable Note, however, that many on this thread have previously posted that the admin office indicated this means nothing. Also, when my S spoke with someone from admissions on Monday of this week, they advised they had no access to any of the waitlistees' files as they were in the hands of the adcom deliberating. Seems all waitlistees' online files have been purged from their system.</p>

<p>I highly doubt that there really has been a round of 144 applicants better qualified than the rest of us. For example, NJ hasn't heard anything yet, and I know there are MANY very qualified people from that state. That makes no sense.</p>

<p>I don't know...it seems weird that they would have so much room for MA kids (I mean, it's Harvard's home state!) and none for NJ kids. No one from my high shcool district is going (a couple were accepted, both declined). I'm not sure how many are waitlisted, but to my knowledge, nobody has heard anything. Oh yeah, and my application status doesn't work right now....did any of the admitees' statuses not work prior to being admitted?? I'm hoping harvard will make more calls tomorrow, otherwise they'll probably send out the first wave of rejections :(</p>

<p>yeah, that could be true. but even then, it seems that quite a few admitees have been making accounts only AFTER being accepted, and I would think that odds are someone form NJ, if they had been admitted, had seen this site or this specific thread before and would have said something. but i guess wll find out soon enough...</p>

<p>No news from NJ yet. I decided to de-lurk. 3 ppl were admitted RD and I;m WL'd.</p>
<p>I don't think the admissions office would say "many hundreds" are on the waitlist if it is really over 1000. So let's assume it was 1000 and 2/3 stayed on. They need to take almost 30% to get another 200 students. That means as many as 15 more on the cc list will get good news. There is no reason to believe the cc posters are any more or less qualified than the people lurking or the ones who are blissfully unaware of this site. Unless Harvard is deliberately misleading, they expect to be at this until the end of June. There is reason to keep hoping.
My D might not even accept if offered a spot. She is one of the blissfully unaware that this is all going on. I am shamefully interested! I think I will go find a good book to read...</p>
