***Official Harvard Class of 2012 Waitlist Thread***

Yeah I just talked to admissions as well and he said it is ongoing till july 1st, also is it true that some people will be accepted without receiving a call?

hey, matador, congrats! do you know the name of your admissions officer? it might be the same one as ours in PA (Sally White-Harty), just curious. she spoke to my son's guidance counselor yesterday, so I was hopeful.

First of all, heartiest congratulations to all of you who have been admitted !!

For the rest - it is indeed strange that H does not spell out the process. This lack of clarity and information leads to more calls in to their admission offices. Notice the number of people who have called them just today. Then you get different and sometimes conflicting stories ! Not sure what the end goal of this is.

When I spoke to the admissions officer, he mentioned that it was an ongoing process - that he could not reveal any further information and yes he did understand that this was very stressful. However it was the way they were doing it. I guess we just have to continue to be patient.

One has to believe that either which way the process will be completed by month end at the very latest. We have waited so long - guess another week at most !

Will H also be sending out mails for those no longer on the wait-list tomorrow?

im also getting confused reading these post about whether or not we know from the admission office that there are people who have not been called, but may be getting acceptance letters?

wow, good luck. i know this probably sucks

Bravo gogli!

fotc; Congratulations! Enjoy your year off. Let us know what you do during this time period.

gwathelien: Congratulations!

matador360; Congratulations!

Hello! Have any internationals been notified so far?
And congratulations to all new admittees!

FYI: Of the 39 logged on when I joined May 13; 5 have now been admitted to H.-meaning most of the 24 who got the lucky call have joined recently. Ratio was about 1:8; now 1:5. Good luck to everyone!

Philly_Mom:

Are your son at Great Valley High School or private school in the area?

I already asked this question once but no one answered.

Does anyone else have the admissions counselor with the initials MH?

If you do please reply and state your admissions status. I really haven't heard this name come up and was kind of wondering why.

hey, so did any admitted students here try to log in to the admitted students page? does it work yet?

my son's stuff doesn't work yet.

Soxthefox,

The person who called my son has the initials MH, hopefully they are the same person.

WoodsGreen -- My son goes to Great Valley High School (public)

hmmm

I'm wondering why it says my Access Code is incorrect?
Anyone else getting this?

a532, same issue but as noted in previous posts - this has no greater meaning!

I've given up. Doesn't look like they're accepting many people from the NYC region, bummer.

I'm glad the waiting is almost over - the anxiety has taken out so much energy from me. Now I just have to get over the disappointment, but oh well. NYU here I come!

I want to thank you all for sharing info on this list. I found this list to be more helpful in keeping me up to date than my d's school!! (I wonder if GCs monitor this list?)
I think someone on this list referred to "smoke and mirrors" and that is how I would describe the entire college admission process. I am glad this part is over - on to the next phase!
Good luck to everybody!
