@afghan00 I told them that Harvard was my first choice but that the competitiveness of transfer applications requires that I apply elsewhere, then listed the schools I applied to.

@Tantara7 Good call. I answered almost identically, but did not list the schools I also applied to. Perhaps that may be seen as not disclosing vital information? I just don’t want the admissions staff to believe that I am considering any school to the same level as Harvard.

Man, I STILL have not been emailed about an interview. Should I start poking the admissions folks?

@CelloDiego Per my understanding, interviews are offered to either borderline cases or those who admissions feels the need to get more information from. The majority of applicants will not be receiving an interview, I believe

@KingofSweden I have no idea how they’ll look on that haha. They did ask for the information, but I doubt that you could have technically listed every school you applied to in the space provided given that you applied to so many. Not sure what you should’ve done there or how they’ll view it

Oh, okay. I assumed they were like other schools and gave interviews to as many people as they had in the region. Thanks for clarifying @Tantara7

@KingofSweden @Tantara7 Now I’m all nervous because all I said was I’m applying to other colleges and then listed them all. However, I also noted that these schools would be difficult to get into so I said a possible alternative would be having to stay at my current college if I don’t get accepted anywhere. But I didn’t explicitly say Harvard was my number one, but it totally is! Now I’m just hoping that I conveyed that they’re my number one through my essays…

@TheEarlyBird You should be fine. If Harvard wants you, they’ll accept you, regardless of how explicit you are about demonstrated interest.

I wouldn’t overthink things, you all. There isn’t really anything that we can do at this point, so there’s no point in being nervous or worrying

I know the official date they’ll notify us by is June 1 but does anyone have an idea of when we’ll practically hear back?

Previous threads showed them notifying applicants early May.

@asdf2222 I know other Ivy’s are releasing on May 15th this year, which means Harvard’s will be on the 15th as well. It will be on a thursday, thats the day when they always release the decisions. One month to go

I am applying again; I heard around May 3rd last year I believe.

Okay guys, I might have been wrong. Got an email from Penn yesterday saying that decisions will be released on May 5th at 3pm. Now I am not sure if Harvard will release on the same day. But I’m guessing they might.

Unlike freshman admits, Ivies don’t release decisions all on the same day for transfers.

“Per my understanding, interviews are offered to either borderline cases or those who admissions feels the need to get more information from.”

That’s right. Since being a borderline case is great news, getting an interview is great news. However, some transfers are admitted without an interview.

I would be surprised if any transfers get decisions until mid-May.

Is the release date really is June 1st? Anyone know about that?
This is what I saw from Harvard web.

“NEXT IMPORTANT DATE
May 1
Reply deadline for admitted students. No deposit required.
June 1
Transfer decisions are released.”

Okay, I’m officially going to have a stroke. Another MONTH!? -REALLY-!? :((

They’re released BY June 1, not necessarily ON June 1.

<a href=“Admissions | Harvard College”>https://college.harvard.edu/admissions

Says “Transfer decisions released : June 1”

No real stipulations on by or on, of course. :(
