Official Harvard RD 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

I just finished the book for the second time, and I also saw the movie two times, so I did examine it critically and it was very well made and a very faithful adaptation

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES.
@perry772, I saw the movie twice too! Lol… I agree; it was very faithful. Apparently Harvard students did too

Only four more days guys!

And I just saw the Hunger Games today and I don’t think Josh Hutcherson looks very good with blonde hair lol
I almost cried when Rue died, in fact I would have if I had not been watching with my friends. I think the movie actually stayed pretty true to the book and the only part I was disappointed about not seeing was Peeta finding out about how Katniss was pretending to love him the entire time.

I can’t help but feel that I will get accepted…and I know I’m just setting myself for major possible disappointment.

I really don’t want to be crushed but it’s nearly impossible for me to lower my standards…

I’m the opposite. I can’t imagine myself getting into HYPS at all.

Dunster is putting on a “Freshmeese Hunger Games” for its selected freshmen–which they call “Freshmeese” bc the Moose is their mascot…

Spiffy, I’m the same boat as you. I already know that I will be rejected, but I can’t seem to get out of the mindset of thinking I will be accepted s i g h

I’m the total opposite. I’m relatively certain I won’t get in, so if I do it’ll be such a nice surprise! haha

Etondad…my D is a freshman and was selected to live in Dunster. Tell me more about the Freshmeese Hunger games:)

the HoCo is putting it together–it will based on the movie…pm me for more.

I talked to a guy in admissions today, Professor Edelstein, and he said that if you call in tomorrow they can notify you of your decision over the phone.

lets have the hunger games, but instead of kids use dogs- Mike Vick’s new book idea

oriolefan44 - your level of maturity alone should automatically disqualify you from gaining admission into Harvard, the greatest university in the world not named Michigan

just talked to Professor Edelstein, he said I showed initiative and would be a model student here at Harvard! Thinking outside the box, and he’ll admit you too!

What is going on I’m so confused

Has anyone gotten an email about the 29th? I haven’t received any correspondences in the last few weeks. Thanks in advance!

^that is because you do not have to log in to get your results. They email them, so they do not send an email in advance.

thanks!

Has anyone else heard the rumor that Stanford comes out tomorrow?

@Spiffy My friends who are frequent CC’ers were talking about it. Apparently Stanford likes to send out their decisions the day before Ivy day…
Well at any rate I have my fingers crossed for those CC’ers who applied to Stanford.
