“I can’t afford even 1% of the total cost”

… you realize 1% of the cost is like 500 bucks a year?
If you can’t afford that… how are you… alive?

“I can’t afford even 1% of the total cost”

… you realize 1% of the cost is like 500 bucks a year?
If you can’t afford that… how are you… alive?

I might have been exaggerating a bit there. I have found that I can afford 4%. Yay :D

LOL…so glad to finally meet people like me who are international, from a completely under-priveleged background, learnt about Harvard in books and movies (i.e. via gross misrepresentation), and don’t think they’re actually gonna get in (tho I assure you, since SOMEBODY will, why not believe it can be you?)…

The reason I’m applying- because I don’t want to look back when I’m 60 and wonder what life could’ve been like HAD I applied =D

Never mind, I have a QUESTION! I’m trying to upload my additional essay in the supplement (about time I agree), but its somehow distorting the italicized characters in the pdf! My heart’s sinking…I believe I can’t do without italicising those characters- any advice anyone???

Happy New Year btw =D

Why don’t you upload directly a pdf yourself instead of a word document? in that case it won’t change your fonts and styles

That’s the problem- I am uploading the pdf version! :/

For now, I just unitalicized them, but I’m certain the real effect of those words is gone :/

What if I underline them? :S

Just want to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!. Hope all of your dreams come through Please try and keep busy with school, and your focus on your various activities, and when the time is right Harvard will be at your door.

Love everyone! Best of luck!

I’m DOOOOOONE

Just felt like putting that up somewhere!

But what am I supposed to do for the next four months?? GAAAH

the next four months = surviving ib mock exams, planning for prom (hehehehe), writing essays for canadian unis (though this will be a breeze after all… THIS!), making the most of the last year of high school ;)

three more colleges tomorrow and it’s over! and happy new year everyone from canada!

The next 3 months = getting my mack on and going after a girl I like. I think it will help pass the time ;)

Hi there guys! I applied to Harvard College recently, and would like to know what are my chances.
-international student, studying in US for 3 years, ethnically from Tajikistan (none of the above colleges have alumnis from Tajikistan), 14 years old senior
-28 ACT score (Math-32, Science-31, English-24, Reading-23)
-110 Toefl Score
-Gold medal at an international olympiad for producing electricity from simple mud.
-took part in 4 Model UN Conferences, and won 4 awards. one of them was specially created for me.
-Student Government President (contributed by organizing a tutoring program, bringing investments into the school, creating new clubs)
-Numerous school awards (i.e. student of the month and etc.)
-Organized a charity event for children with cancer in my hometown. Earned total of 80 hours of cs.
-volunteer at my school (70 hours of cv)
-Second Place at piano competition
-third place at tennis competition
-One issue is that my college essay was good, but I accidentally forgot a word at the end of a paragraph. Instead of “from previous century, until today.” i put " from previous, until" that’s what I have been panicking about! Should I contact the admissions office or just leave it?
-Solid teacher recommendations
I greatly appreciate your comments guys! Please feel free to severely critique me! Thank you!

None of us know. We are not the adcom - most of us are just other RD applicants.
Good Luck.

Certainly feels good to have submitted my application! Already got contacted by my interviewer, geez they move fast :)

Quickster94, how did they contact you and when did you submit your application?

I’m glad it’s over as well. I don’t even want to look at my application again. I’ll probably die from hyperventilation and choke myself with my own saliva. (pleasant imagery)

Anyway, time for Canadian universities!!

good luck, everyone!

I think I’ve begun to recover from the adrenaline rush of the past few days…
The nightmares have temporarily left too :P

So, good luck to all! =D

Whew! Can’t believe the app process is finally over. Good luck to everyone and only a few more months of waiting. Did any of you submit a research supplement?

@Ekaterina: I received an email from my interviewer yesterday. I think I submitted my application on the 30th, though maybe it was the 29th.

Woop deferred from MIT, hoping for something here. Really happy that this process is (mostly) done :D

Does anybody know when decisions will be out?
