Usually spring, like most ivy’s?

Well I know that it says April 1st, but I recall last year being a bit earlier than that, which is why I’m asking haha

To be precise, decisions will be released on March 29, 2012 at 5:00 pm. If for whatever reason you do not get it by then, it will come no later than April 1st. Likewise, you can call the admissions office after March 29 to get your decision on the phone. They do not accept requests to send duplicate decisions email if you do not get one.

Hope this helps you guys to relax a little bit.

replying to a post on the previous page that was obviously answered lol so post removed

Hey there guys!

so on the application status page it says that my test scores are still “unofficial,” even though i sent them at the same time as my EA scores for other schools and the SAT website says they were sent in like October. Should I resend scores?

^ I send all of my RD scores in November, about a month before I submitted my real applications, so a similar circumstance to you. When my app was submitted it wasn’t matched with my already-submitted scores. I emailed Harvard about it and it was all cleared up, so I suggest you do the same before submitting again. Chances are they’ve been received, but are just not linked with your other materials.

So many ignorant people here. Ivy leagues are not the world, less than 0.5% of students even go to Ivy leagues.

I would actually turn down going to Harvard over a college like UCLA, UCSD, Univeristy of Miami, etc… Harvard seems so depressing(cold wintery area), and the kids are all pretty much geeks, or awkward, or stuck up… And buildings are old as hell… Education might be great, but you overwork yourself for nothing. Why not relax in a good college thats not an Ivy League, enjoy life, and possibly earn much more in your future than you would after graduating from an Ivy League.

Why are you even applying then…?

It’s great that you’ve figured out what you want out of your college experience, but several thousand applicants around the world, myself included, have different viewpoints. It’s true that Harvard doesn’t guarantee success – indeed, many state school graduates are making many millions more than Harvard graduates. However, I believe that the Harvard world-class* education - one wrought with Nobel Laureates, and supplemented by eager, motivated, intellectual, and witty classmates – will make me feel like “I’ve made it”, at least for the time being.

The people at Harvard most certainly are not, for the most part, awkward or stuck up. There are a few that are, sure, but that’s the same as any other college.
I’ve already mentioned previously in this thread why I want to go to Harvard, with not one reason being “because it’s Harvard and Harvard equals success”. I’d hope most of the Harvard-hopefuls are more mature and less naive than that, because as your post mentioned, that’s simply not true.

It’s true you overwork yourself, but for some hopeful seniors, this is exactly the type of environment they’re looking for in a university. I don’t know if you’re trying to make yourself feel less miserable about your less-than-likely chances by convincing yourself that you wouldn’t go to Harvard, but stop trying to bash other’s dreams to make yourself feel better. It’s not working.

*No one mentioned the Ivy League was the world. However, I’d like to reiterate that the Ivy League education is a WORLD-class education. Perhaps you misunderstood.

Hey guys im new here and i was just wondering if I have like 3 internships in marketing ie (one in hotel, one in real estate, and one somewhere else) and also i own an adversiting company for two years that made like only 40000, and i am financial manager of a charity do i have a good chance for harvard ( along with 95.5 average)

also lots of volunteering like teacher in rural china and tutor at two schools for small underprivilaged kids.

as well as president of political debate and other clubs
and involved in business and investment club

Does it show i have passion for business

I super not sure about my chances, can anyone give me some advice?

Harvard has no business major. Not sure why you want to apply there showing a passion for business.

You should check out Wharton and apply next fall (assuming you’re a HS junior or lower). #1 in undergraduate business, and sits with HBS and SGSB as the best b schools.

And thus the waiting begins…
I am already nervous for April 29!

^ Correction: MARCH 29th.

Oops! See how nervous I am? I can’t even get the date right! :)

Hey guys, has anyone received interview request? I am from foreign country where I will be contacted if Harvard wants more information about me. So, is there anyone in the same boat as I am?

@icandoeverything
I live in a country where a limited number of interviewers is available, too. I have not been contacted yet, but I still hope it will happen! I’d love to talk to a Harvard alumni.

So the official release date is March 29th?

…and now we play the waiting game

(Also hey everyone, joining in on this. I’m Emily.)

Jup. We’re supposed to get an email (if you signed up for that) after 5 pm :)

Just got an email from them that I am missing some documents. I checked the status online and I’m missing recommendations and the secondary school report. My teachers informed me that they sent their recs in October. Also, common app says that the school report has been downloaded by the college, but I still have a yellow square, because my Midyear report has not come one yet? I’m not missing anything, what do i do?

Does your school send in transcripts with the SSR? Or did you order it individually?
