@LAMuniv When we had soccer practice my sophomore year, we actually had a cow come on the field… Lmao

Did any of you get an email from Harvard saying that we will be getting results on Thursday? I know they will be, but just wondering if Harvard emailed any of you, because I got an email from other ivies but not this one. Also, what are my chances of getting in if 4 people from my school were already accepted early?? I believe I am up to part with the 4 who have already been accepted.

I didn’t receive an email, and I don’t think I’m qualified to respond to your chances question

Hey all. just wanted to ask how you all are preparing for “Ivy Day” Are you gonna have someone check for you? Lock yourselves in your rooms to be alone? Wait till after 5 when the rush/traffic dies down? I’m just curious, 8-| haha, counting down the seconds 'till Thursday [-O<

@PoisonIvy20 Locked up in my room to be alone is my normal state of being.

I’m gonna check with my family… I’m scared to death. I’ve been throwing myself into my ECS to distract me

I think online decisions are super scary. I would much prefer a letter in the mail. It doesn’t flash before you and stare you in the face like a computer screen does. You don’t have to wait for it to load. It’s just there and you can accept it.

@PoisonIvy20
Come home from school around 3:15pm. Maybe go outside and be a little active or go on a run(easy way to get rid of time quickly). Get home around 4:30 and lock myself in my room and prepare for the results by just relaxing and listening to music. Nothing special…will be doing it myself.

also, not to be annoying since i already asked this, but will having a sister who is a senior at Harvard help me?

On a serious note, I’ll probably be more annoyed than anything else to have to interupt my marathon of [insert series here] to check my status. Spring break life

@Cawledge96 yes you’re right, that does seem like the less frantic or more “peaceful” way to go.

@matrixsurgeon it also does seem best to be alone, it’s less nerve-racking

Don’t have any choices. Results coming out 5 am in the morning for me. Will probably be laying off school though, either way.

Anyone else here heard back from Rice? I got waitlisted and am ever more desperate and counting on ivy day

@Keepyourshirton
Welcome to the Rice Waitlist club man… I am counting more on Ivy Day now as well but it seems as though a Rice waitlist doesn’t bear good news for Ivy Day even though I know that top schools are all separate in their admissions…

You too, man? Guess Rice has been receiving too many applications this year.

Don’t give up hope, I know a guy last year who was rejected or waitlisted by every RD school he applied to only to be accepted by his last school ( which is Stanford, I might add). I tried to convince myself with the same logic when UCLA rejected me, that probably UCB will take me.

All we can do now is sit tight, though.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I remember when my sister applied to college a few years ago it was rejection followed by rejection. She got rejected by almost all 21 schools she applied to, and then boom, just like that she got into Harvard.

Yeah I seem to have heard a lot of stories like that…makes you start believing in things like karma, you know? Makes you believe what goes around comes around. In China people say that those who are about to succeed are always first found by agony…hope those ancient folks got it right.

In the end, we only need one thing to go our way. Out of the several thousand filaments that Thomas Edison tried, he only needed one to work (even though he found several that worked). Just like that, out of all the applications we have put out, we only need to get into ONE of my our reach/dream schools to be truly set for the next 4 years.

I know I just used possibly the worst metaphor, comparing all of us to Thomas Edison. Haha

That kind of cliche is not what will get you into Harvard LOL (just kidding)

Haha @Keepyourshirton we all definitely needed that humor!! Too much seriousness around this thread and others lately And don’t worry, I didn’t use such cliches on my essays/applications haha.

@wanttogetinbadly I didn’t get the email. I received the emails from the other Ivies, but not from Harvard. I hope it arrives tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!
