Actually kind of proud to be wait listed though. And with only a 2180. But I doubt the yield will be low enough to warrant wait list admissions this year

Waitlisted. Proud of it.

I still haven’t received an email. Is there anybody else who also hasn’t?

Harvard I expected, but now Duke…I don’t know what to do anymore :(. What does it take for an Indian with a 36 and 2380, good extracurrics, creative essays, and a great interview to get into a freaking good school. Harvard warmed me up, and Duke finished the job of destroying my pride.

I got accepted. Accepted: Brown, Dartmouth. Rejected: bowdoin, oxy, colgate, F&M, Williams, Vassar, Cornell, Princeton, Yale. Waitlisted: Bates, Middlebury, Duke. Full ride fin aid international Congrats everyone!!

I’m getting scared now. Has someone not received an email yet? Damn, why does this have to happen to me.

if you really want your decision, try logging into the admitted students portal.

I would say call the admissions office, OR try logging in to the admitted students website, just to check. But the admissions office will, of course, be more reliable.

@MikeNY5 can you give me the link?

Nevermind got it a second ago. Rejected.

I still haven’t heard…checked my inbox and spam…the link for the website is also down…any ideas?

Weird stuff. No email yet. I told daughter to login to Harvard and check whether her settings were for snail mail only. (We still haven’t found that page. ??) Anyway, she went to her very first email from H after submitting the common app. Logged on from their link. The page says:

[Daughter’s name], congratulations on your acceptance to Harvard!

I thought we shouldn’t even be able to see a page like that!!! Is this possibly not real? Much confusion in our house right now.

Help?

I was waitlisted, and I’m definitely opting in for that. I was rejected by Yale, Columbia, Brown, UPenn, and Princeton. I’ll probably be choosing Boston University unless I get into Harvard.

@wasatchwriter – If that was the admitted students portal, congrats; it’s legit!

I got in… I’ve never been so surprised or cried harder in my life!! Still can’t believe it…

DS was rejected. Sigh, really thought he had a chance.

Help me sleep tonight and answer this one. Does your mail start like:

"Dear Ms. … ,

Congratulations! I am delighted to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has admitted you to the Class of 2018. ?"

Because, honestly, I cannot believe this.

My SATs are awful (2000). I wrote my essays in a big rush. Sure didn’t hope for anything from Harvard. However, I have excellent grades, pretty good extracurriculars… but nothing really Harvard-worthy, I guess.

Seriously, yesterday I was rejected by Macalester.

So how can I verify that the admission is indeed true? I’m a great skeptic, so I really can’t be happy about the admission without the nagging feeling in the back of my head that says someone is just pulling a joke. I did manage to log in into the admitted students page and all, but this is just… pure shock.

@SaraSic, I have a secret for you about your admission.

There’s something special about you. You’re a quality candidate who shone brightly out of thousands of applicants. Maybe you don’t see it, but the admissions committee did. Congrats!

@MikeNY5, we see it at the admitted students page now, but that wasn’t where we first saw it. Can everyone who got in see that on the admitted students page? Still feeling buggy about this.

Waitlisted…
and rejected at Dart, Yale, and Duke

this makes no sense

@SaraSic, quite honestly, that makes me cringe a little
