<p>I am from Kazakhstan, no one actually know about even SATs and I did not have an internet access when I was applying but seriously I REALLY REALLY REALLY prayed, hoped, believed that I can get into the Harvard. I am very very very crashed. </p>
<p>These schools have single digit admittance rates, and tens of thousands of applicants. You didn’t get in because Harvard, for whatever reason, didn’t think you would be a good fit for their school. Someone else’s acceptance is completely irrelevant to your situation, and hopefully in a few years after you’ve matured a bit and have experienced a wonderful college education at a campus that DOES want you, you’ll be okay with that. </p>

<p>Harvard accepted only 3.1% of the regular pool, so the scarcity of acceptances on CC is no surprise. My D was waitlisted.</p>

<p>My D was accepted, but rejected at Yale. 2400 in only SAT sitting, 4. uw GPA, IB diploma cand in mid-range public school. Also in at Pomona and Carleton, wait list Williams, still waiting for Swarthmore and Haverford. Toss up where she will chose from among those. </p>

<p>Granted, I have no national awards. Several people do. However, I am confident that I am the only one who talked about Robespierre in the essays and joked in the interview about how cliquish social groups at my school can be aptly dubbed “benzene rings” due their not wanting any more members to join their group, just like how benzene does not want to add any more molecules to its structure. </p>
<p>Don’t even get me started on my intellectual jokes about Machiavelli’s Prince. Apparently they weren’t to college’s liking. </p>
