231 - 9/9. My academic stats are the weaknesses of my app…but it doesn’t mean anything.

17 more days!

Just out of curiousity, what were they? I always sort of thought they were my strength and I only got a 2300…

Okay so it’s weird…I calculated it again and if I calculate it more than once it says 231 9/9 -always.

But the first time it was : 218 6/9 which makes much more sense.

My stats:
SAT I: V 640, M 780
SAT II: 3x 800
i’m an intl’ student so I don’t have a weighted GPA (neither a class rank - it’s approx.)
Class size - 300
Decile - Top 10%

@israrub, try recalculating…something’s wrong. I’m top 1-2% of my class, SAT’s are similar, and I didn’t get a 9.

Wow, I hate to interrupt this academic p*ssing contest, but from what I’ve heard, AI at top schools is typically only used for determining an athlete’s recruitability…And according to my interviewer, about 85% of H applicants have an AI that suggests they can succeed academically there anyway. Which means that for most us here on CC, the subjective parts of the app are going to either make it or break it for us.

At this point we probably post this for self-reassurance ojodeltigre.

How are you all filling the time? Today, I actually forgot that I applied EA… It was a bit of a shock when one of my friends asked me when I find out…

^In that case, carry on :D

I’m trying literally anything and everything to keep busy. I run in circles around my neighborhood. I attempt unnecessarily complicated recipes. I’ve watched two full-length television series and gotten more sleep than I have in months. Needless to say, waiting is hellish.

agentofchaos, you’ll get in. :D

Gekko, I sure hope you’re right. ^_^

Heya everyone~
I applied harvard SCEA too. I didn’t discover this thread till today, but i’m glad i’m not the only one making unnecessary work for myself to keep my brain from being sucked back into that thought process.

@bananafreak i’m completely asian, and applying for engineering… hopefully that’ll balance out xD

They all use the AI. It is weighted the same as your EC’s

So your folder might be marked like this

9/7,thats the first thing the comm. sees.

@orcaaa: what does 9/7 mean?

Several articles/ interviews with Dean Fitzsimmons say that Harvard uses a different 1-6 scale. Two 1-6 ratings: 1 for personality and 1 for academics. The superior academic rating is reserved for those who have placed at national competitions (like Math Olymp, Bio Olymp, etc.)

Hey everybody, another SCEAer here. @collegeinfo - What factors go into a personality rating?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any further information. All I know is that they use the all your recommendation letters and the alumni review sheet to assess that.

I have some friends who applied early to various schools (Brown, Penn, Stanford), so we’re all excitedly counting down.

Do any of you guys know the ED/EA notification schedule for the top schools? I know Brown notifies on the 13th and Harvard on the 15th, but I’ve yet to find something definite on the others.

THE PERSONALITY RATING; an obsequious means of judgement, since 1967
